If BB10 is supposed to be the prime business mobile OS, it can't be missing main newspaper apps from around the world. They should be brought in, be it through Amazon Appstore or whatever.

Other thing it can't be missing is the main transportation apps from around the world.

I find just going to the mobile Web site just as a good experience. A lot of times an app is just a shortcut to a mobile Web site. Take CNBC for example. The "app" and the mobile website is almost identical.

I get all of my news through rss feeds and the like. Much faster than popping in and out of various news apps.

Get gNewsReader and sync with your feedly account. Load it up with more news than you could possibly consume in one lifetime.

If you insist on doing it the old fashioned way, install Cobalt's modified Google Play Store and load up all the news apps you want and fill your homescreens with icons.

Right - so.. BlackBerry's new motto is "Our phones are so void of apps, you'll be more productive than ever!"

So much denial. The experience in premium news apps is nothing like their websites.

There are some MAJOR ones missing that just make BB10 a no go.

And unofficial Play Store hacks are not the answer.

Why do you need apps? Can't you work wide and make the world a better place? :P

Well, it is an answer. You can either take advantage, or continue to live without. It will take you about 5 minutes to install.

Are you looking for a solution, or just want to rant? I thought I was trying to help you. If this is just a "BlackBerry is stupid" thread, then I have better things to do.

Mate, we and BlackBerry are all very aware of these problems. You can be sure BlackBerry is trying to get rid of them as quick as they can. But in the meantime all you can do is be patient. BlackBerry has had some rough times over the years and you've got to be a little forgiving. They have made a great OS that has become extremely mature very fast. But they can't do everything - now what they're missing is interest from the public, from the big companies and from developers. And that's how us BB fans must help if we want to see the company we love thrive again.

I know we are aware, but I don't know much about any significant efforts by BlackBerry to get Android publishers to distribute their apps also for BB10.

I'm pretty sure that John Chen has heard the message loud and clear. That's why he's sacrificing BB10 and coming out with an Android flagship device around the end of the year. No work-arounds. No half solutions. No excuses. No telling users what they should and shouldn't want.

We have access to the Amazon Appstore - the largest official repository for Android apps free of Google Play Services.

For a BB10 device, there's really not much else Chen can do.

There is no news app void.

Install Snap, and download Android apps. I do not understand what the big deal is. It is not a "hack" by any means. BlackBerry has consciously included Android support, and has been updating it's runtime with each OS update. No BlackBerry has ever been hacked.

By the way, this is my MSN news app

I have the Appstore since before it was blessed. That is not enough. BlackBerry themselves have to push for the Android publishers to put their apps there.

And Snap and the others getting the apps not straight from the publisher are not the same as Amazon.
