    All...

Have an issue with my passport SQW100-1 from India on Airtel.
I am also a beta tester and have also posted it on the Beta forums.

The problem is that a couple of days back the brightness went down. So I had to open up settings and then reset the brightness again. It came back, however the phone started acting up and hung. So I restarted the phone using the power button on top. However the phone slowed down considerably again. So I worked with the phone for some time in that state and then decided to wipe the phone clean. I started last night at 2200 local time and till 1200 today local time the phone was at 98%. And then Suddenly the phone started the wipe again. As I speak it is now at 80% which took 1.5 hours. I am not sure whats going on but I think that the device beta update screwed up my phone.

    Any suggestions?

I tried connecting my phone to BlackBerry Link to see if it finds the phone... no...
    Autoloaders will also not connect.

Use SIC to clear the phone and then a clean installation.

Will SIC work if the phone is still doing a security wipe?

Yeah even I gone through with the same problem. Waiting to complete 100% just waste of time.
Better do one thing connect your phone to pc, turn on BlackBerry link application click on load the OS hold the power button for 10sec till the led light turns green colour. That's it now the swipe option gets deactivated then if u have the autoloader exit the BlackBerry link application and fire it up with the autoloader.

Just run the 2204 autoloader. Same as a security wipe, but done in 5 minutes.

If the autoloader still won't work, reload the OS with blackberry link.
It may not connect your device to link but it will give you option to reload it. Just go ahead and reload.

I'm fine at all on Beta Tester.

Solution; Download SIC Multiwipe V1.3 and you must reload OS with Autoloader 10.3.2XXX

    It will wipe your device.

What OS are you on now?

OK. Just making sure you're not on 10.3.2. There are some issues with that because of the anti-theft feature.

Reloading your OS though Link is the same as using an autoloader. It will give you a fresh (wiped) install, but only to the latest OS available from your carrier.

If you use an autoloader instead, you can pick whatever OS you want.

I I am waiting for 10.3.2 OTA. I will definitely go for auto loader after few days if there is no ota. Could you please provide the link for how to use autoloader?

Using SIC multiwipe and using autoloader is exactly the same thing. Only difference is that autoloader is faster and gives the same result as the other.

Simple. Download and unzip autoloader of choice to your PC. Plug in device. Run autoloader. Done.

If you must, you can backup your device first with BlackBerry Link and restore after the new installation.

The better option is to use a third party app like Ultimate Backup to backup your contacts, messages, media, etc. This will result in a much cleaner install. You will have to download your apps again and setup your accounts.

    Yes

Just informational. You don't need it. Just download the large file.

Hmmm... so I did not SIC my BBPP, but I did get the security wipe (frozen at 97% for the passed
however long) to stop and--by pressing the power button, as recommended--I got BB Link to begin reloading the OS. Hoping it will all be fine...

Update Got my BBPP up and running again. Thanks guys!
