I have downloaded/updated/upgraded to the new BlackBerry OS 10.2 'Finally'. But I need help...
When you do universal search on your blackbery device, how do you make Google and other search engines appear, I have tried things such as restarting, it appeared one time then disappeared now it only shows BlackBerry World & Help, so please can you help me. My device is the BlackBerry Q10. (This is my 1st post)

Actually, I just tried and the search engines aren't appearing as options in Settings/Search/Extended, although I swear they were there before.

This is on OS 10.2.0.1791 (aka Release 10.2.0.424).

I tried out a search, and it's offering neither any browser engines nor a generic "internet search" option.
Tapping the lines in upper left corner and selecting Browser doesn't accomplish this either. I believe that's checking local Browser items like recent history and Bookmarks.

    Welcome to CrackBerry!
Please update your profile to include device, carrier, and location. Makes it easier for others to help you.

As per my post right above this, it seems to be missing within this 10.2 release.

Workaround is to open Browser (or open a new tab in Browser if you'd prefer), then:
    1. Tap the address bar at bottom of screen.
    2. Type your search item right into address bar.
    3. As soon as you start typing, you'll see a black button in top right corner with a downward arrow and the icon for a search engine.
    4. Tap that button and select Google if it's not the icon that was already there.
    5. Your selection will persist as default Browser search engine until you change it again.

    Hope that helps for now.

Seems like it's back and Google and other search engines are included when I go to Settings>Search>Extended Search

I've followed those steps and I still have no option to add either Google, bing or duck duck as an extended search. Any ideas folks?

I'm still missing the extended search options in Universal search and also in settings. I've restarted the phone twice since the 10.2 update just to be sure but the options hadn't come back.

Although I tend to use duckduckgo via a bookmark anyway...

Never mind since I am a ******* genius I solved the problem. Most likely a bug from new parental controls feature.

Note I never used PC before upgrade. Just turn on parental controls and then turn it off.

    search engines are back!

The parental controls on/off worked for me as well. Didn't even have to really turn it on and give a password. Just on + cancel was enough.
