I find that the Android Runtime on these 10.3 builds (fast though they may be) are more limited in functionality with apps than some of the 10.2 builds. No, it's not because it's a leak. Some of the 10.2 leaks had great runtimes with good compatibility.

Here are some things I was able to do in some of the 10.2 official and leaked versions:

Use Widgets lager than x1 in launchers like Nova and Apex. (some of my colleagues were pretty impressed that I could run live wallpapers and widget like they did).

Sign in with the Playstation App.

    Choose categories Craigslist.

Anyone know what the difference is, was something removed or locked out of the newer Runtimes to make them faster or compatible with a wider range of apps?

Something definitely changed in the runtime ttorrent use to work of 10.3 official and on 10.2.1 all releases but after10.3.1.1016/652 it stopped working. Opens but won't start just gives wait or kill app

I'm on the latest leak 10.3.1.1154 and I have ttorrent working perfectly! The .1154 core is very stable and runs silky smooth on my '30! The .1155 radio isn't all that bad either. I just downgraded my android runtime to 10.3.1.1016's runtime, by sideloading the two android bar files from that OS(.1016) I also played around with the radio too, finding that I can get a little more battery life with the 10.3.1.9xx radios. All in all this .1154 core is really sweet when paired with .1016's runtime so I'm fairly content now that all the apps I need work. Still, can't wait for a new leak to drop so I can test out, what can I say?..... I addicted

Yeah, it is like something is being removed. I have used several apps that work correctly on one runtime and then not work correctly on others. It seems like more apps are working and working faster on the newer runtimes, but at the cost of some of the apps' functionality.

Wish I still had the older runtimes so I can try them even though you're supposed to stay within the same branch of the OS. I'd like to try the 10.2 runtime that worked best for me on this 10.3 to see if it will even work.

I would drop to 1016 but last time I checked replacing runtime also replaced runtime data aka my clash of clans game and I don't want to do a backup it defeats the purpose of a quick fix... I've moved onto other torrent apps that work at this time.

I don't run a lot of android apps on my z10 (.1154) but the apps I use the most work without hiccups (flickr, a couple of banking apps, weatherzone+ etc).

It never occurred to me to run Nova.. and holy cow, it works. I can open up the apps from the Apps drawer etc. What I can't do is add any widgets larger than 1x1.

So you can run larger widgets on the older runtimes??

Yes, I was able to run any size widget on older runtimes than the ones from 10.3.

At least live Wallpapers still work. It was just neat to show some of the haters that it's not some hardware limitation like they think and that I can Run them too if I choose.

Gotta admit, now that it is gone. I actually miss it. Had live wallpapers with widgets on some countdowns, weather and Google voice widget on it.

It was fun and I hope they bring back whatever they removed to disable it.

    Hi,

running 10.3.1.1154 as well and noted that an Android app I use (Diaro) that links with Dropbox no longer links, even after I used my workaround of loading an android browser from Snap.

However Google Play Music now pauses and plays correctly using the hardware button and is controllable with my Pebble using Talk2Watch Pro.

It giveth, it taketh away lol

Yeah, something is broken with the browser login handshakes. The Playstation App used to work when you used an android browser like Dolphin. Now it does not, so I know what you mean on that.

They sure do give and take away. I hope they start more giving or at least stop taking away... lol

I haven't heard of the runtime removing data (could be true)... as i have 1154 with 1016's runtime and I maintained my candycrush and Teamviewer data. I did a lot of runtime jumping after I installed 1154.

Mr. Spoon, we're referring to loss of functionality, not necessarily data. I retained my files when I transferred before my wipe.

Yours is an observation too so not trying to discredit you. Just trying to make sure you knew what WE were talking about.

OK, I knew it was a long shot...so I tried the Runtime from the latest 10.2.1 thanks to Thurask for providing it.

As expected, it doesn't load in 10.3.1. Thankfully, you can still get it working by installing the one for your own OS branch.

Wish I had more Runtimes to try.

WatchESPN still works fine for me. I don't see how flash or air would have anything to do with android apps.

I just wish Hulu would get past buffering.

Well my brother plays COC(he's addicted to that darn game) he too was scared to lose his game data. I dropped him to .1016's runtime and basically gave him the same configuration I have (.1154core/.1016runtime/.996radio) He has been happy ever since! He said his game now loads faster and over all feels a little more smooth. So just letting you know sideloading runtime does NOT affect game data, at least not with COC.

Ruling the air with my '30, 10.3.1, and big red! Accept no substitute.
