So basically, why use anything else when you can run all the apps on Blackberry 10?

I'm guessing you actually need to compile the iOS app for BB10 though. Can't just sideload existing .ipa's like we can with Android .apk's.

Wow. If the mountain won't come...bring it!!

Now don't even need to beg developers to invest in a brand new bb10 app as can easily just port over and when user base is justified convert to native..as with many of the Android ports )

BB10 now benefit from ios apps... wow..what really then will Apple have over BlackBerry other than multiple colours. Lol. p

    Gooooo BlackBerry!!! ) )

I agree. Apple is very particular with their intellectual property, and they have a history of shuttering any Mac clone in the past so the precedence is there for suing the brains out of anyone who tries to use iOS without their permission.

That's really interesting! My Q with ios apps... hmmm...

That said, even with the android run time app devs are not coming... could this address that? there's a whole other thread on the android update (in 10.2)! With all the doors open people may still not want to walk through...

However I personally feel this is a good thing for those missing apps...

Though I'd wager the majority, of those that actually bought a bb10 device; don't know what sideloading even is!!!

I've downloaded Reebee and it definitely is a really smooth app. Aside from not supporting the back gesture to get back a page, it runs very similarly to a native application. Would love to see this company port over a few thousand more apps!

I just want them to release the tools, so that we can port the ones we want ourselves. Now that will be fun.

This is not really news since it has already been done before with the PlayBook, but it is if it's planned to be spread further.

Reebee looks identical to an iOS app, including the "Back" button at the top left of the screen. The font for the headings is also very iOS-y. This is definitely a direct port. Even the transitions between pages within the apps is true iOS-style. Clicking on Settings, the menu comes up from the bottom and overlays the previous screen; closing settings, the settings screen falls down to the bottom. I'll try to post some screenshots via CB10.

I don't have an iPhone to add comparison screenshots, maybe someone else can? As far as I know, this is identical... buttons, transitions, everything.

PS: iOS is so boring in terms of fonts and buttons. Looks like Windows 95 compared to Windows 7.

So what exactly is happening here? Obviously there is no ios emulator in the BB10 OS, and surely no emulation that comes downloaded with the app

So has the developer just converted the original ios app onto coding that is fully supported on BB10? Thus allowing for no changing of buttons, transitions etc?

I'm not too familiar with coding so would love a developer to chip in

*UPDATE* ? We?ve learned that this is not exactly an ?iOS app player? as originally reported by the source. The tools that Inception Mobile built take Objective-C and convert as much as possible to Android Java or C++. A developer can then take the rough code and replace what they need to make it a native app for the desired platform.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Although this is possible, and has been demonstrated in the past on the Playbook, I very much doubt that Gadget master knows what they're talking about...

This is not new news. Its been stated since before BB10s release that iOS and android apps could easily be ported to BB10.

It's really no surprise as all three systems run on a Unix like OS and all use the same coding language. Given that QNX is POSIX UNIX like apps can run on it meaning Linux and even darwin which is the base of iOS.
