On a recent call, the BlackBerry representative stated that there were rumors that BlackBerry will stop supporting BB10. He strongly denied any rumors and mentioned work on BB10.3.3 and beyond.

With that stated, I was curious if anyone had info on these rumors.

    Thanks!

We'll have to see won't we, 10.3.3 is all we know about, I don't see it been discontinued on 10.3.3 though, not after the 10.3.2 Passport SE

I don't see BlackBerry stopping support anytime soon, or at all because I believe in BlackBerry, but u was curious about the rumor that the Blackberry tech was referring to. (especially since I know that he wouldn't have pointed out where the rumor came from)

    Anywhere, really.

BB10 isn't exactly selling like hotcakes, and the transition to Android leaves its future in doubt.

I'm waiting to hear what Mr Chen has to say on this matter. All the rest is speculation.

There will be no more BlackBerry os in future. It will be treated as just like other android device with some special features.

Further support = Another update with small changes like 10.3.1>10.3.2 and security fixes or minor updates for some time: why not
Further support = Major updates to secure the future development of BB10 like a 10.4 with Qt5: Highly doubtful

I'll believe it when it happens. I'm surprised we even have BB10, according to past rumors BlackBerry was to be dead something like 5 years ago???

Rumors = really useless meaningless over reported $h1t!

If you ask the average smartphone user on the street, they will tell you BB is dead or so they think. Every comment I get bout my Z30 is "Oh I didn't know BB is still in business."

Believe the average user. Does it make them all right?

If BlackBerry's dead, it dead to them and them only. I guess they've got that iPhone to far shoved up somewhere to realize what's going on around them.

Since they're releasing an Android phone, it doesn't make sense to maintain two operating systems.

Especially for a company as small as BlackBerry.

So, yes, it's quite possible BlackBerry 10 won't last for much longer.

It's not difficult for me to believe that BB10 will die. I own a PlayBook. It's time for me to remove emotional sentiments from my smartphone purchases. This Z30 I'm using now will be my last BlackBerry device.

Sounds like you're contradicting yourself. Your post sounds emotional, like you feel you were wronged by BlackBerry and are leaving because of it.

    To each their own though.

But the average user HAS not bought into BB10. BlackBerry has hung on but the sales and user base continue to decline unfortunately. Trust me, I love BB10 but if there is no market share how do expect BlackBerry to survive? The job Chen has been left with is to make Android work on a Blackberry and hopefully make improved sales with increased stock market value and at which point if the share price rises to a level of $20 then BlackBerry will actively seek a buyer. Just thinking like a CEO, Chen doesn't go to sleep at night worrying that you might be upset, he loses sleep if the share price doesn't rise. That is his job.

I think we should make our decisions as and when we hear official news from Toronto regarding BB10's future and the Slider.

Coming on here and dwelling in speculation of doom and gloom is only making the situation worse for ourselves :^)

So last week I also had a meeting with a few BlackBerry reps to discuss Watchdox and BES12. While they would not comment on any of the rumors. They did say pretty emphatically that bb10 is not only will it continue be supported but is very much in development. I followed up with a question about the runtime and bb10 which everyone here seems to think they will have to rip out it out if they do want an Android device capable of Google Play Services. They told me the runtime will continue to be a part of the BB10 OS but not expect android apps to run with BlackBerry Balance any time soon.

Take this with a grain of salt but hopefully this is true.
