Initially when my Z30 notified me of an update, it said I would receive 10.3.2.2226. Upon reboot, I ended up with 10.3.2.2168.
10.3.2.2226 is a software release for OS 10.3.2.2339.

    mine is 1.4GB for 10.3.2.2168.

My device says it has 2.78GB free, but the updater wants me to free up another 1.2GB. how does that math work out? also.. why the hell do i need to have 3.98GB (2.78 + 1.2) to upgdate my god damn phone? that's 25%!!!!!
This. This is happening to me. Any one know how to work around this? I have 1.3gig free and the update is requiring another 3.1 free. ....no music pics or videos on my device. All on the SD card.

Use Link. Link is usually able to bypass the extra required space needed when upgrading vs OTA.

Personally, I would download a contacts app. Back up my contacts, back up my password keeper, wipe and upgrade. I export the back ups to my laptop. I don't keep anything synced to my email or the cloud. Since keeping all my contacts local, I don't have any duplicate and triplicate issues either.

Yes it's a pain to download all the apps again and sign into them but in the long run it's worth it.

    My software release is 10.3.2.2168
    My OS version is 10.3.2.2252

*shrug* Like I said, when the notification came, it said I'd upgrade to 10.3.2.2226, and after the upgrade the success message said 10.3.2.2168 was installed. I don't know what the difference is, and my phone is operating fine, but I'm just pointing it out.

I forgot my Z30 could be this quick. Good to be back after the last iteration caused it to freeze and choke up quite frequently.

Edit: Okay this update has made by my battery life phenomenal. Hope it keeps up. Unplugged at 7am today and still at 77% at 5:34 pm. Wow.

My Red Z10 keeps getting notified of a BlackBerry 10 OS update on ROGERS.... 10.3.2.2168 - size 386 MB. So I cleared up over 1 GB and it downloads the entire update OTA (completes step 1) but then during step 2 during install it stays at 7% progress for 20-30 minutes and finally gives a warning message that it can't install.

It doesn't say anything about running out of space or that it needs 2-3 GB free. It simply just says it can't install and without any cause or error code given. I'm sure it needs more space available, but wouldn't it normally not allowed me to even start the update if it knew I didn't have the EXTRA space needed available to decompress and install it? I may just skip this one, something seems too flaky and I'd rather wait for reports from other users before it breaks one or more of the apps I rely on.

I've had this happen with a Q5. Clear up what you can like pictures that are directly on the devices flash memory etc, and then update using BlackBerry Link. Solved the issue for me.

Agreed, try doing the update via Link. Seems like it's having issues unlocking a file while the phone is on and just crashing out!

Like other said, try via Link. The initial download might only be 386MB but it will uncompress the files and install them all at once, which will take up a significant amount of space. On my Z30, I had 25% free space but during install it had fallen to sub-10% territory before bouncing back after the reboot.

When I installed 10.3.2.2339 on my Z10STL100-3, I had to delete a few apps to gain the needed storage. Afterwards, I reinstalled the apps.
