I am running Windows 10, and I finally narrowed down why my computer keeps waking from sleep all the time.. It is the service Rim MDNS, which I have also narrowed down to Blackberry Blend, as when I disable that service, Blend no longer opens.
Blackberry Link continues to work fine with that service disabled.
If I do disable Rim MDNS, then my computer now works fine, and is no longer woken up from sleep, but of course BB Blend fails to work.
Even if I close BB Blend, before it goes to sleep, that service is still running in the background.
Anyone else have this issue, and if so, what was your workaround to fix this ?

That's an interesting find. I'll have to check it tomorrow when I'm back at my PC. I used to have issues with Windows 8.1 waking up in the middle of the night, but fixed it by turning off my wireless mouse. Lol. Simple. But with Windows 10 I have seen my computer on again hours after putting it to sleep. Perhaps this will help. I don't use blend much anyway. Maybe once in a while.

To find out what woke up your computer last, type in at a command prompt (admin) " powercfg -lastwake " no quotes...
This will tell you what service last woke up your computer.

After a few days, my wireless mouse is still the only thing that will prematurely wake my Laptop. I am not seeing any BlackBerry services waking my device. Turning off my mouse after putting the system to sleep keeps my system asleep. Using the command you described it tells me it was a USB device each time. Although it may not be my issue, I'm sure this finding helped a few people out. I was thinking that it may not have been the mouse every time, but it doesn't look to be anything else. Thanks.

I have my computer set to wake only when power button is pressed. Since I couldn't find what was waking my PC. I did all the commands and checks. Nothing. Usually get something like "unknown device "

As I recall Blend installs a virtual network adapter. Windows has (or used to have) the ability to enable Wake On Lan for specific network adapters.

Maybe check the BlackBerry network adapter properties and see if the WOL flat is set to enabled.

Yea, I did check this.. My regular network LAN connection , I can disable from waking computer, but my BB virtual network adapter, has no provisions for turning that off or on.

Can you disable wake from the BIOS? That was the easy way for me. Without wasting time on finding unknown device.

I've got the same issue. I've been running Windows 10 now for just over a week but only used Blend for the first time yesterday and noticed my computer didn't stay asleep last night. Event logs showed it kept being woken up by "mDNSResponder.exe".

There's a thread on BB Support Forums about it:
mDNSResponder.exe wakes windows 10 from standby - BlackBerry Support Community Forums

I had no problem with Blend running on Windows 8/8.1 and the computer sleeping. And I ran BlackBerry Link earlier in the week under Windows 10 and there was no issues with the computer sleeping so it is definitely just an issue Blend.

Hopefully BlackBerry gets around to fixing it and I'm going to have to uninstall it until they do.
