Hello all
Is there a way to get all my backed up chats back from an Android device to my Blackberry Passport? It has 10.3.2.2876 running and have tried putting the folder 'Whatsapp' from my previous phone to the folder Device/misc in my Passport but when I install Whatsapp (BB world version) I get no option of restoring the chats.
The problem is to find the correct path in BB10 where Whatsapp gets installed
Any help?
You wont' ever find it, BB10 Apps are sandboxed, it means only the App itself can access it, so unless the dev makes a Import option then you may be out of luck.
The problem is that the Android and BlackBerry 10 versions of WhatsApp use a different format/structure/encryption for their message history databases, and there is no utility to convert an Android DB to a BlackBerry 10 DB.
Although I have not tried but there are some apps on the Play Store that let you convert from the crypt8 to crypt format. But you need a rooted Android device for that. I guess if one does that and places the converted files into the backup folder (can be checked by creating a dummy backup) it should be possible.
Hey Dkonigsberg... is this why BB10 Whatsapp doesn't have a future?
