Sorry, but no. The tutorial is rather clear and I imagine the error might be on your end. Try their support via E-Mail. I don't do IM with random strangers.

Watch this video carefully and follow instructions.

If you get "authentication error", change server address. A list of available servers is available here. It is simply country code dot hide.me. (nl.hide.me for Netherlands. I tried ca.hide.me, Canada worked for me!).


UPDATE: Only 3 servers work in a free account. Netherlands, Canada and Singapore. So you can try, nl.hide.me, ca.hide.me, or sg.hide.me in server address field.

You have to do the setup inside your smartphone (with the browser) don't do it in your PC.

Ok did all the steps though my phone and still did not connect. I tried all three of the servers but still no. Not sure what's going on. Could it be that I am running 10.3.xx on my passport? Not sure why that would cause it not to connect. Any way thanks to all who helped me with this.

not going to get deeply involved because I am not a tech guy.
Just a barista with a flare for making leaves on cappuccinos.
Do you get some kind of log from the client that allows you to see the details of the tunnel setup?

Yes I checked the logs. And the only thing I get is "can't authentic, check your login info". Which I have many times. Thanks

You need to download the VPN certificate. With out it even with the correct username and password, you will get a authentication error. Please check the website of that VPN provider that you choose.


I did try a couple of free VPN services before I decided to finally avail of the paid VPN service. I personally like NordVPN. I think they are ok.

Btw, if you are in a corporate network, your admin could perhaps block the VPN service.

He or She can see that type of network traffic and effectively block it on the network.

He could also block the servers so you won't be able to connect to the VPN service.
