    I think you can remove the BAR with sachie. Leaving it uninstalled may cause problems when the runtime needs to be accessed.

    Pretty sure you cannot remove the runtime totally as I believe there are 2 components, one built directly into the OS and another component is in the form of a bar file which can be removed. I could and will be corrected on this if I am wrong

    You can remove it with Sachesi, just delete the sys.android and sys.shell (it might be called sys.android.shell) apps. This worked fine in older OSes, I'm not certain you won't bork your OS and have to reload in newer OSes though.

    I have seen it done. Yes, it borks the OS, at least on 10.3.1.1154.

    I would really like an official way to disable it. I never use Android apps ever - not even ones on BB World. I do not want Google products or software on my phone at all - that's why I moved to BB in the first place.

    Android for my tablet only.

    It's not doing any data mining for Google if you don't have any android ports. If that's your main concern.

    OK, it's a option that you don't have to use,
    You don't have to use android apps or anything to do with APK. And I'm sure the CEO use apk so what make you different? I'm not have a go at you at all, I just don't see why people making a big deal about it. At the minute BlackBerry I stronger than ever just because off android apps. Developers it not too bothered on making native apps.......

    Try Settings->App Manager ->Installing Apps

    Turn off, can only install from BlackBerry World.

    Is that any use?

    Won't stop you getting Android ports from BB World though.

    A good one, but there's still the case of Android ports in the BlackBerry World
