Sadly true, even though 10.3.3 is just security patches.

One thing I know they have promised is to fix the nasty bug in 2876 (which may have been on prior builds too) where when you think you are uninstalling an Android app, it doesn't actually get uninstalled. (Eg, only the icon is removed. Nice trick. )

What "other builds" ...all I know is 2876 has the defect & 2879 floating around is not fixed...

My guess is we won't see OS 10.3.3 because Chen fired all the people working on it.

The world wanted BetaMax because it was a better format but VHS won because of the pron industry.

OS 10 is superior but people get a hard-on for things that are cheap and easy!

Yes, because normal people would rather have things that are expensive, impractical, and unintuitive, right?

I remember a friend's dad had a betamax vcr. I remember him going on about the better format that couldn't fit a whole movie onto one tape. And the selection in the movie rental shop was confined to one or two shelves at the back.

I know betamax was better than vhs in some areas, but having to stop and swap tapes in the middle of a movie wasn't one of them, nor was the limited selection of apps I mean movies.

I don't know - I just wouldn't be surprised if the flaw didn't get noticed until 2876. The reason I say this is because I read an exchange between an app developer and BlackBerry about it from some time over the last couple of months or so, and from the sounds of it they didn't know about it until he reported it.

And even if they DID know about it, it would be another example why this company can't make any headway in the marketplace: they should have INFORMED owners of the issue and told them what the timeline for the upcoming fix is, rather than waiting for some frustrated app developer to complain to them and finally acknowledge it in some out of the way corner of cyberspace that few humans ever venture.

(Oh they do have a "solution" - you can read their knowledge-base article here. They suggest you completely wipe the device and never install another Android app on it. )

That KB article also implies that this problem is with any 10.3.2 build, BTW.

Sony introduced a mode providing 2 hours of record/play time one year after VHS was introduced, and even longer modes later. So the "inability to watch a whole movie" issue probably didn't exist for long at all, unless you were in the habit of watching a lot of 3-hour epics.
