Anyone else having problems with the BlackBerry 10 rad.io app? It was working for me a few weeks ago and now, no stations are loading.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Indeed there seems to be an issue, nothing loads up in the App. I have also tried using the  browser as well as Browsie browser to load up radio.net. It will populate stations but won't play them.

    Working on it.

that's a shame. that was one the best BB10 apps. I know the Devs specifically said a few years back that they wouldn't update the app but that it would continue to be supported. maybe something finally changed.

The last used radio station continues to work in this application. But now I can't switch to another.
Right now, to listen to radio stations, I use the Nobex app. This application is still running.

It doesn't work for me either, I downloaded the starplayer and entered my favorite stations into the data stream manually.

I thought it was only my device and was ready to uninstall and reinstall the app. It appears to be widespread so not my specific device.

I have emailed support as a hope and a prayer we get a fix or something. This was one of the last few apps that worked that I used daily.

Does anybody still use Tune In? I know it wasn't working for the Passport but for other BB 10 phones it did a while back.

Yep - many will not and I've also given up on Nobex. I use Star Player with the local url's added manually and then place a link onto my desktop.

If you have an older BlackBerry device running BlackBerry OS 7, you can download the "TuneIn radio" app and access a ton of radio stations. I just did this on my old BlackBerry Curve. :-)

I noticed the login stopped working, I emailed them about it and they said they no longer support login accounts, just local favorites. After that I switched back to Nobex, which is a great app on BB10, but a terrible app on Android. Anyway, if you go to the Nobex radio website and click "stations", you can find the station you want and edit it, or add new stations with "add a station". I was skeptical if this would work, but I tried it with several broken SomaFM stations, and after about a week I got an email saying they had updated their station list with my changes and the AncientFM station I added, and they all work now on the BB10 app (I fixed Drone Zone, WAMU 88.5 Bluegrass Country, and Suburbs of Goa - and I added Metal Detector, CJPX 99,5 Radio Classique Montreal, and AncientFM). I have not tried this with any local, offline stations, but it will work with any station that has a streaming URL to enter. Make sure that URL goes into the "web site address" field on the Nobex site.

    Hope it helps.

Pardon, what exactly happened? All these stations now work just for you on BB10? Personally I can't start any of them in Rad.io app.

I switched from rad.io to Nobex app on BB10. One common complaint about Nobex is that so many stations do not load. I was just pointing out that you can fix the stations you want on the Nobex radio website if they have a working streaming URL.

I tried it with some stations I like that were broken in Nobex app on BB10 and they work now. None of which helps with Rad.io app. I was just suggesting an alternative.

    Hi,

I'm just wondering if all you users are still having issues with the Rad.IO app and if the Android version is still working well?

I've been a lazy ******* and haven't done the Blackberry World fix for the app store so I don't have the ability to download the Nobex App.

I miss being able to stream some music on my Passport with the great speakers so I figured I should get this all fixed now.

Does the Android version drain the battery very quickly? An other streaming radio apps working on BB 10? On some other devices I have Tune In but I'm not sure if that's still working.

    Thanks!

TuneIn still works, but it's unreliable with sometimes-fatal Javascript errors. Nobex works. All the Android apps I try have a noticeable impact on battery life, most notably Spotify Lite. Open Radio is an app in BB World that works well if all else fails, and you can export/import a text file list of station URLs and edit it accordingly.

    Hope it helps.

It's a good front end library. Howler is optimized to load audio files and streams as arraybuffer data over the network. I find it to be good with battery drain when playing radio stations or 1 song at a time.

That s3 url doesn't serve the assets with CORS anymore but I have an alternative that does if you want to load front end js, or json to link to streams like icecast and not break tls. I've got it pretty stacked.

They both do caching however, and you can check about:cache in the browser to see assets that might have been cached. A reason to keep them would be if your going to use them again. the browser wont request it from the network if it hasnt expired. You have to turn on disk cache.
