Hi guys, just wanna know if I download the new 10.1 on my phone, do I need to backup all my email contacts, pictures, andriod sideloaded apps or all these will be there after I updated to the new os. Thanks for any input

Everything is kept with official updates. The update is like a patch and your phone restarts just like before the update. Android ported apps should still work.

But if you install leaked versions of the updates, you will lose everything as those updates install the os from scratch.

Always good to keep a backup on hand though for your data, and sync your contacts, notes and appointments via online services like Hotmail or Gmail, etc
