Hey all! Just a really quick question. If you have a gmail account setup and under the settings you have 'Use push if supported' enabled, but you have the sync interval set to manual, would this still mean that the phone will continuously be pulling from the server despite the manual sync setting? I tried it and I had a test email show up almost instantaneously. I'm trying to figure out, for batter life purposes, if it would be better to leave it as 'Use push if supported' enabled and keep the sync interval set to manual, or should I disable the push and change the sync interval to like an hour? Thanks!

You should disable push notifications it drain more battery, I tried this and instead of manual make it 4hr.

Thanks! Forgot to mention in the original post that these are non-essential emails. I don't rely on email for day to day communications.

When Push is active in the settings, emails will be instantly pushed to your device. The manual sync interval is used to sync any changes you make (such as deleting an email) to the server.
