All BB10 phones will either be full touch or keyboard+touch (as in no keyboard only phones) because BB10 relies a lot on gestures/touch events that couldn't be simulated with a trackball/pad (which is also being removed from BB10)

Agree - i really wish that as one option - they would retrofit new hardware into the exact same 9810 form factor. Perhaps boost the screen to 960x540 in a 4 in form factor, which would length the 9810 just a bit.

I'm sorry, but that's not a valid reason for not having the trackpad. Using Bridge Remote, you can interact fully with a PlayBook using the trackpad on your phone. There's no reason why the PlayBook (or BB10) phone couldn't have one other than the idea that a trackpad is "old fashioned" and the iPhone and Android phones don't have one.
