How many pieces could sell a new device BlackBerry10 nowadays, in your opinion?

I guess that without a seroious update on the Operating System and without the support of important applications like whatsapp or facebook the numbers would be greatly reduced, how much could sell a new OS10 device with a premium processor?

Say a number: too much or too little aren't numbers... :-P

I doubt many pieces are moving or would be moving without an update to the ecosystem. There might be a few of the bb10 faithful who would update but to be honest I don't find my passport sluggish in anything it does.

there's no real apps or anything in bb10 that this can't handle quite well so I wouldn't see the need to upgrade.

Why, any new hardware would have the same internals as the current BB10 phones.

The 801 SoC is the last one that BB10 has drivers for.

So if they sold 100,000 new touch and 100,000 new pkb devices, BlackBerry's losses on them may be no more than 8 figures.

Ok, re-qualified Question would be: How many pieces would sell a new BlackBerry10 device if it had the same processor as Samsung Galaxy S7 ?

About the same. Maybe less due to cost. Increase BlackBerry losses to 9 figures.

BB10 is essentially unchanged from 2013. It hardly needs anything more than the 801 SoC.

Without worrying too much about financial losses that would only virtual here, your bet would be 200.000 then...

Why would you need a faster processor? I hardly think, nor have experienced lag being the issue with BB10.

Yeah the OS hasn't evolved at all to where it needs better hardware than what was out there in 2013/14.

Since there are no increasing software demands (mainly because nobody is developing for the platform), there are likewise no increasing hardware demands.

There's a device for all BlackBerry 10 users. Maybe some the Z users would upgrade to a new slab and maybe Classic users if they beefed it up a bit. But all this isn't going to happen. Let's hope the K1 sells more than BlackBerry 10 devices did!

The best and most realistic play would be passport internals inside a larger Z 30 type device.

I meant BB10. So a slab, yes. The Passport still runs the OS very well. What is missing the most in the BB10 world is an updated slab.

    I disagree...

    What's missing most is customers.

I disagree. What's missing most is the APPs (which in turn causes the missing customers).

Can't really call anything with 3-4 year old specs and components updated regardless of what casing you drop it all into.

Apple does the opposite: cutting-edge components in a 3-year-old case.

Or, maybe the lack of customers is the cause of the lack apps. Can spin most ways.

Except the apps weren't there at launch, so the customers didn't come.
