Thank you hotfix, thank you all. Everything went fine finally.
Achieved encryption and backup at the same time.

I have a questions HotFix... Sorry for resurrecting this thread but you seem knowledgeable on the subject. If I am transferring data from my Z10 to a new Z30 (via BB Link) and my SD card is encrypted, do I have to decrypt it before putting it in the z30 or will Link automatically send the key over to the Z30?

What I would do is a fresh backup just to be on the safe side.

The encryption is on the file system level, not on each individual file.

So does this mean if the SD card and phone have both been encrypted, if I were to add files to the SD card or device memory I will not have to decrypt and reencrypt everything again?

My mistake was.... I had connected my device as a USB device to my pc and copied one file to the SD card. The complete SD card was broken. No chance to save anything...
Okay Linux isn't the supporting os but an popup on the device that stops me for using the USB drive mode while encryption would be really nice...
Every file was able to read from my pc, I could copy files from the device to the pc, but never copy anything to the device @.@
Okay im using encryption anymore, it's saver for my data.

Correct. The encryption lives in the file system so anything added to your device or SD card will be encrypted and anything transferred off will be decrypted. It's the same logic as full disk encryption on a laptop: the encryption protects the data as long as it is on that device.
