    Hi guys quick question,

The messages app on my Z10 glitched out yesterday and 2 battery pull restarts didn't help it so I decided to do a full security wipe and restart over. As of right now the security wipe has been going for about 12hrs.... not sure if its taken this long before for anyone? I've done it before and it never took this long, and I had the same amount of data on it then as I do now.

    Thanks!

I've only had to do a wipe a couple of times and it did take a while...maybe an hour or so. 12 hours and not being completed seems odd to me.

Security wipe taking 12hours is too long. Mostly swipe taking about 20-30mins. Before security wipe should delete some apps/ photos / docs ,that will reducing time of swipe. Check the media card is encryption, if media card is on encrypted and wipe will be taking longer time . Pull battery and put back battery to device and should continually wiping, if not the device connect via USB cable to PC and then open sachesi or blackberry link Hitting factory reset.

If you are doing battery pulls I would suspect that to be the source of your glitching. But, regardless of the cause it is unlikely that a security wipe would fix the problem. But for now you are stuck either waiting for the wipe to complete. If you have corrupted the file system this could take a very long time.

You could try rebooting it and trying to get an autoloader to catch the boot. Then start again.

Yeah i'm not sure. The glitch started within the messages app. Corrupting the file system would be a pain.... i'm currently stuck at 94% but when I get home i'll first try a factory reset through link then I suppose i'll try an autoloader

I believe a factory reset does a security wipe. So it may detect on in progress and just let it continue.
