    Hi Guys,

Wife's got Q5 (already 3 years old or so) which she really likes. however, for last week or so, PIM Services are acting absolutely bonkers.

current PIM Service battery usage is about 5-6%. Battery is discharging at massive rate - it's barely enough to las a day (7 am to 9 pm) although phone is almost unused.
Usually, with such usage, in the end of the day it was about 60% of battery easily.

There are only LinkedIn and GMAIL accounts on the phone. There's been no changes in account settings for last year or so.

there are no android apps on the phone.
4G is off (3G only), locations off.

I have reloaded latest available 10.3.2 os (autoloader, not restoring anything), and during the night it discharged from 100% to 40% (although IT MIGHT BE due to new set-up syncronisations) with PIM at 6%..

in short, anyone can suggest the way to solve the issue?

there are no new phones with Physical keyboard and PRIV - she didn't like it.

Perhaps an upgrade to the Q10? She'll get more hard disk space there, which is important if you want to update or reset OS, as one of the solutions to the aforementioned problem(s).

well, I can always use autoloader I believe.
I agree on the upgrade need, but she didn't really liked Q10 (for whatever reason). I think, as last resort, we will have to wait for a new android with PKB...

First thing to try, remove the Google and LinkedIn accounts from the phone and then add them back after a reboot. I bet that will fix the issue you describe. Let us know if that works.

How often do the accounts sync? Set whatever you can (contacts? calendar?) to manual or 24 hour sync.

    Sync - 54 hrs.

Accounts have been removed, re-added. Same.

Last time it went from 100 to 10% in less than 2 hrs!

Than maybe the battery is awful. I have also Q5 as my main phone and also like Q5 much more than Q10 because the keyboard is much better. I am also wondering what will happen when my Q5 battery couldn't be alive the whole day. Those service battery changing for Q5 I don't know if anyone is doing in my country. 😢

Though I love the Q5 for reasons above, I suggest a Q10, too. Extra space aside, you can replace an aging battery much more easily than that of a Q5.

Other things that come to mind:

How far back in time does the sync go?

You mention 3G, but is the phone on WiFi most of the time? Is the WiFi signal solid?

Have you tried it without the accounts to see if the drain goes away/battery life is acceptable?

The only times I've had this occur was using an older OS and the root cause I believe was an email account. May I suggest you try 10.3.2.2813 and trying that bare for a couple of days?

yeah, I think I need to do that...

os is latest, installed from autoloader. with no additional apps. so SHOULD be ok.. but...
