I did my update over Wifi, but it seems to me you should always do updates via bblink. At the very least, if BlackBerry asks you to wipe and reinstall the operating system, you have the file on your PC.

Here again, we have a problem that shouldn't exist, and it is not unique to BlackBerry. Updates on linux are old hat. You have a hash code to insure integrity of what you download and a crypto key to assure it is authentic. I don't know about windows phone, but Apple IOS and Android have update problems. (I have had windows PCs get so tangled in knots regarding updates that I had to reload the OS.)

Bblink is a step down from the old desktop software, but I have begrudgingly learned to live with it.

I forget if it was mentioned in this thread, but you can see the proximity detector in a very dark room. If you have another phone or basically anything with a CCD camera, you can watch the proximity detector flash. It is on all the time, not just when you are making phone calls, unless the OS upgrades changed that.

True, in a dark room or even in normal lights, it used to blink red led. Now that is gone. This week will try to remove battery and leave phone like that overnight. Then maybe it can work. That is the only thing which I havent tried.

Does anyone know where the sensor files should be?

I used Ghost Commander and found a

folder. However it only contains a "history" folder which in turn contains a single file "pressure"

Should there be more files in the sensor folder and if so does anyone know how to get them?

It will be hardware, not software.

Done that several times. After reset, battery pull, without SIM or SD card, etc etc. No joy.

Since others seem to be having success with a hardware fix, I've contacted a repair service here in the UK. Waiting to hear back from them re a quote to replace the sensors.

This issue is software related in my opinion, at least the light sensor: Automatic mode still works for flash in the camera app, and this feature needs the light sensor...

Blackberryrepairs.co.uk sadly do not offer a sensor replacement service. (they just emailed me)

So I'll keep my fingers crossed that it is after all software related and that 10.3.1 will solve our woes.

This may be a redundant comment, but, for what its worth. ...my daughter's Z10 proximity sensor passed fine in BBVE but sensor was not operational while on phone call. Very annoying. Turned out it was screen protector causing this weird behavior.

Dammit, I just bought a replacement Z10! Well, it was on the BlackBerry 30% off offer so it was too good to miss. Decided Z30 was too much right now, will get it in 12 months time.

So, I'll get 10.3 loaded on the old Z10 too ASAP and see whether that fixes it for me.

Slightly ashamed to say I'm not sure how to do this. Is it the Sachesi approach that you used?
