This is for the information of other BB10 users who are interested in Protonmail. Save the android rhetoric for the other 100 BB10 active threads.

The latest APK variant that worked with runtime 4.3 has now been blocked from login. Therefore users are required to upgrade the app to a later runtime version.

Thanks Gene. If you or others are interested, it may be possible to have the more recent app run even under the older runtime version. Let me know if you'd like me to give it a shot.

Some weeks ago I noticed, Protonmail also is not usable via the browser on BlackBerry 10 anymore. I contcted Protonmail support, but it seems they are not interested in it. :-(

Not being able to access protonmail on the run (via a mobile device) is not a showstopper but it definitely is a negative.

Excuse my ignorance but what does Protonmail do for you? I assume you need it for a certain connection that the stock email app does not provide. Can an app such as K-9 (from F-Droid) duplicate Protonmail?

The Protonmail app is required to use Protonmail's services on mobile platforms, since it does some voodoo encryption that other mobile email apps (F-Droid included) don't know how to manage. There is a desktop app for paid users to get Protonmail working with mail clients like Thunderbird or Outlook, but no such equivalent for mobile.

The minimum API for the latest version of the app is still 4.0.3, but it's just not compatible anymore - patched or not.

I have both heard that before and corrected that problem--sometimes in conjuction with a patch, sometimes not. We'll see if I'm able to do so with ProtonMail or not.

Website works with Kiwi Browser, since it is built with the latest build of Chrome.

Beta app seems to not work, but I'm testing Kiwi Browser more. Trackpad works flawlessly with ProtonMail's website and Kiwi Browser's UI!

Alrighty! I have the latest version of Firefox installed, ProtonMail works even better with trackpad support, It's more responsive/speedy, and I even get notifications when the app is running in the background! Firefox saves the login and decrypt passwords so I don't have to type both in every time. Just leave the active frame open and it'll be better than the old app.

Write down on Google Firefox apkmirror and you will be directed to apkmirror website. There you should find the link to download the Firefox versions. I recommend the 65.1

Firefox 63? I stopped at 48, I found later versions installed OK but would run for a nanosecond then vanish. I'll give 63 a shot, thanks.
