I have a few contacts that i have a specific bbm and telephone profile for. In 10.3.0 or 10.2.1 os, when i set the overall profile to normal, the contact profile settings would override the normal profile settings. Which is what i would expect. When i switch the profile to silent that profile would override the contact settings for sound and vibrate. This no longer happens with 10.3.1. It really sucks, when I'm in a meeting, expecting the phone to be silent and i get a crap load of bbm sounds that i don't want going off. I must be missing something somewhere in the settings. Can anyone help?

Surely, your setting override system setting, so it will still ringing although you set the system setting to silent, that's called override....IMO

In 10.3 versions, contact profile overrides any global profile if you set sound to on and slide volume slider to some value over 0.
Its not the most elegant solution because I have set some contacts to be able to reach me during the night when I switch to silent. I set volume to 40% which is loud enough for the night, but its not loud enough during the day when I use normal profile, so ironically, all important contacts are much quieter than other contacts.

I see. It's because i am over ridding the volume. i did that to ensure that important contacts had a higher volume. I will turn that back to profile.

Create your own "custom profile" and name it anything you want. Set your quick settings too.
Set any app to either ring or not; any contact to come thru and ring or not.
