I tried to update my Z10 to 10.1.0.4181 by going into Settings/Software Updates and then tapped update. After going through the process the update doesn't seem to have worked and now my phone doesn't work for ingoing or outgoing calls. When I look in Settings/About it stills says I have 10.1.0.273. I tried updating it again and got the same result.

Before I tried to update I backed up my phone using Blackberry Link.

I have two questions:

1. how do I get my phone to work?
2. how do I successfully update to 10.1.0.4181?

I looked for that option on BlackBerry Link but couldn't see how to do it.

Using Blackberry Link in "Settings" (blue gear) I clicked "Reload" under "Reload Device Software". I was then advised of the 10.1.0.4181 update. I clicked "Get Update". I got 21% through the update and then a message " an error has occururred while downloading software for your device. Please verify your internet connection or try again later, if the problem persists." There is no current problem with my internet connection, so I clicked "retry" and I get the same message.

I can't get past this point. Any help appreciated.

Link does act up at times... You can try an autoloader instead or try the harder method of reloading the OS (It's the second procedure outlined here How to reload the OS on a BlackBerry Z10 or BlackBerry Q10 | CrackBerry.com)

If you do decide to go the autoloader route, you can go for 10.1.0.4687 (Works great) or get the latest 10.2.0.1047!

Hi,
This happened to me all day today but i plugged the phone in so it was mains charged and just let the software update.
I did it 3 times mind and now it works fine.
So, for clarity.
I plugged the phone into a mains charger, pressed update. Once updated i reset the phone by pressing the reset button at the time of being notified and then let it reboot. Always had it plugged in on the last time of doing so.
