Hello Community,I read already so many in this Forum, but in this Post I want to hear was is your own opinion and the latest experience. Official 10.2.3 VS 10.3 Leaked.
This will help me a lot to decide for my Q10, if I will stay on the Official OS or chance

For all my years as a BlackBerry user leaks have the state of the day. Every device gets the latest OS as soon as possible. The cutting edge may not be good for all but in my hands having the latest software has been good overall.

Sometimes a leak is not ready for the big time. Reading reviews is important. Even then sometimes things go wrong. Waiting for an official release also allows OTA installation.

For me the balance sways to the leaks but everyone has to make those choices for themselves.

It used to be almost every leak became an official OS eventually. These days most leaks will never have an official release. Exception would be 10.3.1.1154, which in my opinion was only official to push the Classic out, and not because it was ready for prime time. 10.3.1.1949 probably will be official, though currently only available for the Z30 and Classic.

OP, if you need someone to tell you to load a leak, I recommend you stay on official.

Leaks are not for everyone. People on here get leaks and then start to cry when something is not working as it should. They complain and accuse blackberry of making a crappy OS. I can't stand those people. So if you decide to install a leak don't become one of those people...please, i don't want to get all pissed off at you as well.
Installing a leak for me is fun...Its the thrill of the hunt so to speak, you get to try the latest features. I can't stay official, i'm addicted to leaking, but at the same time i know the potential downfalls and that varies from leak to leak but for me the potential upside is worth it.

As Usman said, all leaks technically are official, but that doesn't mean it should ever have escaped BlackBerry. If you mean you'll wait for a carrier other than yours to release, and then load that OS, I'd say that's a good idea.

Maybe we should use the term Official Carrier release. One example might be 10.3.0.1154 is official for Passport, but not other devices, and therefore might have bugs, not present on the intended device

    I think you meant 10.3.0.1418

As BigBadWulf mentioned above, 10.3.1.1154 is official for the Classic, though still buggy etc...

Can't wait for the official release of 10.3.1.1949 for the Passport!

Leaks are the way to go especially once number after last decimal reaches 1000+.. Don't be afraid of leaks.. only thing is that for any issue with OS you cannot call customer care and expect them to help you, they are usually useless anyway.. But you can definitely find help on any problem that might your BlackBerry have.. So happy reading.. )

I hate to split hairs about leaks again, but in this case the word "official" is being used as an adjective as it pertains to a release of something (a noun). Using Webster's definition, the closest application of the word official as it pertains to OSes is that they are "...public and often formal..."
    http://i.word.com/idictionary/official

So with that understanding BlackBerry OS leaks are not "official" as they are not publicly or formally published. The word that I think is a pertinent alternative these types of OS versions is "internal". Leaks are officially from BlackBerry, but that's as about as "official" as they get. :-)

As a further example, the company I work for that is an international software giant deals with a lot of internal builds of software every day and I would never call them official. Only the ones that they publish online or make readily available to customers would I ever claim are official.

Right, but as you stated above, because it is official for one device, does not mean it is official for them all

I never said leaks couldn't turn into/eventually become official releases. In BlackBerry's case they do quite often, they just aren't "official" until BlackBerry releases them to the wild. :-)

Hello Guys, I decided to give the Latest Leak for the Q10 a try, and I have to admit that I really like it.
What I mean with the Official Leak is, we can name it Official Leak for our Community. Of course it is not a Official Version for all Devices and Public.
