I'll use it for the Maple Leafs app, Toronto Raptors app, and MLB app during games as they display the live score. Sometimes I leave BeWeather Pro open for the weather. The music app and apps like Nobex and Hype Machine will display the current songs album art which is nice.

The twitter app would be nice in theory but it doesn't pull new tweets unless manually refreshed. Does the active frame for Blaq or Twittly continuously pull new tweets?

It's very useful having 2 or more apps open at same time to switch between them. I don't leave apps permanently open as active frames when phone is not in use but I do switch between a number of active apps while actively using the phone.

I always have three apps open in active frames.

    Reddit in Motion
    Feed Minder
    & CB.

I find that the extra battery usage of having them stay open in active frames all day is very minimal. I would probably say not even a whole percent.

Look at the screen shot below, the total percentage of those above apps compared to apps I don't leave open is not even noticeable. I don't think leaving an app open in active frame is going to consume that much more battery. It's going to come down to how often you have your sync settings for.

I am also a fan of how some app's integrate live tiles into the active frames.

Useless unless you can lock your active frames. Never ever use them. Needs addressed

I wish I could have an option to close an app right away, not with swipe + hit X. Most of the time I don't need any active frames open.

At first I was concerned about extending the battery life of the z10, so I always closed the Active Frames when not using the app.

But using Active Frames grew on me, it looks cool. Plus, depending on the app and how it was coded will have a marginal effect on battery life and system resources. I also noticed BlackBerry Assistant launches practically instantly when the the active frame is open

I like to leave certain apps open as active frames (if the app has that option).

    My regular active frame apps:
    Battery Lover
    Reddit in Motion

    Non-regular frame apps:
    CBC (now discontinued)
    Weather / BeWeather
Evolution Browser / Alpha Browser (the BlackBerry browser doesn't count as active frame)
    Music App
    Pictures App
    Phone app

If I discover another active frame app, I'll definitely download it.

Always keep calendar and weather open. Sometimes twitter.

Really notice no difference in battery drain with them open.

The battery on the Z10 sucks anyway...
