So you suggest tourists to arm themselves? How much is that going to cost for the training?

Actually, I think we're talking about Canadian police brutality in this thread. Not sure why there's an assumption of U.S. when the OP is a Montrealer who responded that going to the provincial police would be pointless.

That wasn't mentioned until middle of thread. still doesn't excuse the action of deleting footage that may or may not be police brutality...

Let me guess, you're a white guy, probably a conservative who thinks that cops do no wrong and blacks deserve any treatment they get from cops, regardless of circumstances.

The brutality will come when this thread gets closed (or moved from the BlackBerry 10 OS forum) lol
This got hijacked with the quickness.

Nope I think if you're white, black, or whatever colour, religion or race, that if you don't obey police orders or say fight or grab for guns then yes you get what you deserve. They have families too they wana go home they are just doing their jobs.
Are there bad police? Yes of course. BUT most times the media and public blow it out of portion and don't report the whole story. There's bad office workers, firefighters ect!
Why is it that no one riots when I black person shoots a white person? Why don't we wreck our own cities or burn them down? There's lots of stories that go un reported in the media of black killing white people. Doesn't matter the race crime is bad and people that do it EVEN white people should be punished ect.

Unfortunately I know many people who think like this. Strangely it's all US Americans I know. "Always respect the police blah blah". It's like most people want to get hand cuffs, no matter what kind. Either the data collection (Whatsapp, cookies, paying by card) or police.
I'm sometimes ashamed to be a human being.
People like Sgt. Shamar Thomas are rare, unfortunately. Watching his video in New York always reminds me that good people are rare but they're still out there.
People should stop abusing "power". Whatever that "power" is.
So, I wish OP geht's the video back and releases it to show how police with obviously more rights abuse their power.
All of us on this beautiful planet just want one thing: living in peace. Life is a one way Street. 99% of the people only realise when it's their end.
Edit: let me add one thought:
We are not:
- Numbers,
- Tax payers,
- Slaves (almost same as tax payers),
- someone's ***** to work for few rich people
- different because of skin colour, eye shapes or what ever people invent to hate others.
We are:
- Human beings -
And sometimes I'm ashamed that I'm the same animal as the one who's killing people in wars/ on the street in blue uniform because he's always on the safe side.
OP, geht this video back, every proof counts.
I think everyone does wrong one way or another. In my opinion If you listen to a person with authority ie police, most times nothing is going to happen, but when your run, or fight that's when stuff happens.

You're so wrong about that. I wish you had grown up in Washington Heights in NYC in the early 90's where we would get thrown around and slapped around as teenagers just because they thought we looked liked the drug dealers. The physical abuse was the norm, not the exception.
I guess we have all lived different realities and have had different life experiences and just don't take the other person's lessons learned seriously.

And different countries as well lol maybe I'm naive but at least in Canada it seems we have less problems with that kind of stuff. There's always bad apples of course. And I get it, I just hate the hatred towards the police ect. I'm Military so I guess I'm different in that even if I'm right I gotta respect the "man" lol
Posted via CB10
Military is more likely to protect the citizens. Police is there to protect the system as it is.
And this system is lead by money. Money owns us, so the US FED owns us. A privately owned bank. A private company printing the world's money? Come on guys, stop accepting this system. Open your eyes, don't be the ball.
Don't look for the symptoms, every school-medical doctor can do this. Start looking out for the roots of the problems.
Its a known fact that the largest gang in any city are the police. Even the police agree with that.

Cops should be University grads. Or at least a good few years of College. In every country.
Also, OP. You did a good thing, and you tried to protect the other guy, and you protected yourself.
Clearly you've worked your **** off to try to get this file, but if it's gone, it's gone. Unfortunate.
If ever a court case comes up, go in and testify, that's all you can do.
Otherwise, next time, lock the phone.
You can hold down the "k" key to do it quickly.
Remember that legally you do not have to handover your password, unless it is a fingerprint scanner.

So if what the police do 10% of the time is brutality or illegal this is somehow okay?!?
Yes, the vast majority of the time police do exactly what they are trained to do, but if even 1% of the time what they're doing is brutality or illegal this needs to be addressed!
I'm not here for a political debate, but if OP was not breaking the law in any way and was simply recording the video, this is within his rights and it is not up to you or me on this forum to decide whether or not the people he recorded were breaking the law. The video should not have been deleted so that the people whose jobs are to decide whether these people's actions were legal/illegal could see the video and make a more informed decision.
