    Hi guys,

Friend of mine asked me this:

"Is there a way to use a BlackBerry phone to operate as a playback device for audio stored on a computer? I.e., either turn the BB into a bluetooth headset, or as a streaming service to play music from a PC"

    Thanks for the input.

    Shawn

You can access the music in the file manager if you're connected through link

I access files over Wifi using ES file explorer. It is an android port. You must be on the same Wifi for this to work.

I think the latest OS all includes this functionality natively but I have not yet tried it. Other links on this site indicate it works quite well.

I can't find it on BB World. Do you mean you downloaded the actual Android apk?

Sorry. Yes. It needs to be sideloaded using Snap or other method.

Don't need to install anything. BlackBerry 1x0 has been able to do that natively since 10.0

Simply access your computer remotely through your file manager (you will have had to set this up B4 hand with Link) you can access & play any music you want from anywhere in the world (also videos & other files)

Worked with Wifi Music Sync on OS 7 as well. You could just play the file. Didn't have to sync it.

It does work if you download the Account Services and Account Log In. I use it almost every day and you can download songs to your phone to save on data.

I used to have an app called "SonicAir" on my Playbook at the time. not available on BB10 unfortunately.

You can look at details here:

it says its available for Android.

Use Files And Folders For BlackBerry 10(its in BlackBerry world). You can stream and play full albums. Going through file manager only let's you play one song at a time.
