After a reboot or reset, PIM services normally hogs a huge amount of battery for a long while and it can be a problem.
• Observation: Unless you are on WiFi, the PIM services will run constantly and kill your battery, but after connecting to WiFi, it stops.
I'm guessing that some apps or built in process is attempting to "phone home" via WiFi and when it can't, it continues to attempt to do so with the obvious annoyance of battery drain that we're seeing in the Device Monitor.
What I just did:
1. Went to each mail srvc and configured them to allow for FULL Messages download. Same thing with the mail srvc configure for contacts.
2. BlackBerry Assistance - turned OFF "Save your usage history" and also deleted the Saved usage history at the bottom of that setting.
3. Smart Card - Went into Smart Card reader and made these changes:
Power saving mode: FULL
Bluetooth range: 30%
BAM!
PIM services dropped off from consuming my battery while I was out away from wifi.
So far this fixed my problem for now. Dunno if it can/or is the fix for this damned battery hog problem, but if it does help anyone, please report your results.
Since CB10 is broken and does not allow us to upload pics/files anymore, I can't upload a screenshot to show the moment the "fix" happened :(
