How many combination does a picture password produce? Considering that there are 10 numbers and just a few recognisable points in pictures, doesn't it make combinations much lesser? Whereas in a complex picture it might be difficult to identify the point, increasing unlock time.

For example, in the N4BB video, I guessed that the guy would put the point on Orange ball as it was the most obvious point. So I can try all 10 numbers and unlock the phone easily within allowed number of re-tries.

Well, here's my situation- I switch between Q10 and Z10 every couple of days.. and sometimes I leave the pic password on and forget where to put the number to unlock the phone... I think it's too secure to the point that makes you mad.. because it's your phone and you forgot where to put number lol..

That's exactly what I mean. There are only few points on a photo which you can use efficiently. Either it's too easy or too difficult. Many tend to go with easy one.

It really just depends on the photo that you select. Even with knowing what the point area is the number has to be pretty close to the original position at that point. I've driven myself made when I'm not being exact with it.

Its five picture password tries, after that it prompts you to write blackberry and then type your usual password.

Considering the random matrix that appears and extends beyond the visible screen and further than one can swipe and lack of a marker whatsoever on the chosen image, I'd say it's pretty secure.

Locked myself out once and had to enter my regular password because I changed my picture password on a whim and zoned out lol.

It's very secure if you remember your password.
Don't select too difficult of a picture.
Choose picture that is close to your heart.
Something like your picture at an amusement park and put in your favourite single digit.
