    News from The Associated Press

& JCHEN of BlackBerry capitulated likely because his so called most secure of systems is & was a paper tiger...

JC did not join the fight... it has been reported he will fully cooperate with LE on this... is it fear of legal fees, knowing full well the security ain't that good on android even on the BlackBerry hardware, that he has no stomach for a fight, of that the final remaining BlackBerry item on meager offerings will deplete the coffers & leave his golden parachute unfunded? I would like to know; anyone else?

John Chen isn't going to chime in this time because his previous public stance was a huge mistake. It gave the distinct impression that he takes privacy less seriously than Tim Cook which is a bad position to be when your named your flagship phone after it.

Yes it seems that privacy is simply a marketing concept for BlackBerry. I doubt that John Chen is concerned much about it. For better or worse he comes across as more pragmatic about these things.

I never bought into any of that privacy diatribe spewing from JC&Cie anyway; did anyone?

Tim Cook isn't as indebted to governments as Chen is. Governments drop Apple, they still have loyal consumers. Governments drop BlackBerry, they're all on the street in a week.

Chen can't challenge governments for a variety of reasons.

    Apple can. Good for them.

I'll say this again and again, the iPhone is becoming very attractive.
