Do you have two factor auth. Enabled on your outlook settings? If so you need to use an app password on the device.

    ^^^ this ^^^

I don't use my regular password so sign on my Z10, but an "outlook generated" password or app password.

When using regular android OS it installs Microsoft Account app for authentication. So far, I couldn't make it work on any version of BB10. I am on official version of 10.3 (BlackBerry Passport) . Anyone succeeded?

Yeah you can. Or you can leave it on and go into your Outlook.com advanced security settings and create an app password. That's what I'd do. Then if you lose your phone you don't have to reset your main password. You can just revoke the app password.

Yup I get that many times a week. It's getting annoying. Do you use the Outlook.com app?

Me. Not meaning to hijack this thread (but it seems like it anyways) but I started experiencing that since this january 2015. Whn I look up the ip address it points out to microsoft. I get emails now end then and it won't stop. I tried changing my password several times and added 2 step but it keeps on having this unusual sign in. Now my onedrive asks me to log in even though I logged in everytime I change my password. This is really getting in my nerves already. Fortunately I haven't saved any file in any of my microsoft account except for syncing in my calendar for events.

Getting the emails too. Use lots of MS products... some weeks are more frequent with the emails than others, and it's only with one of my outlook.com accounts (have a few). Like someone else already pointed to, the offending IP they list for me is part of an MS block. Use two-factor author, and have reset all passwords (including app passwords) a few times.

I'm wondering if it isn't some internal MS servers triggering their own security rules for whatever reason. Gives me comfort others are seeing the same thing...

I did also get the security mails. MS said it's because of server updates and that's why it sometimes happens.

Ditto for me. Changed all my passwords, thinking, at first, it was a legitimate hack. Continued for another day or so, but then went away. Now it's back. Really a PITA.

Yes I thought it was also a legitimate hack. But when it became frequent and I checked every ip it leads to microsoft's own backyard. I'm not sure if any of my apps is/are triggering this or its a way for microsoft to scare people of hacks to avail their paid security services.

I have set up one outlook 365 account that works well and 2 free outlook accounts. Both (free accounts) work except that the password needs updating many times a day. I suspect this is a BB10 issue and hoping 10.3 will fix this.

    I am in UK.
but that's the point Outlook.com detects unusual activity (i.e. log in from US, when 99.999% of log ins comes from UK) and asks - is it me? Also it says, that security has been challenged, and even some times - successful sign-in. this is worrying me as well, although, there is a huge possibility, that this is just some services...
check the link I posted above.

since you are in US, and the other sign-ins are in US, - there is nothing suspicious, therefore you get no alert.

basically, they ask some account IDs and formal permission to access the account.

this is needed as they are MS employees, and in order to investigate, they need the access (if needed).

anyhow - since I got nothing to hide (it's not used for any passwords, etc.) I gave them the permission.

I will update when anything new will develop.
