Outlook uses Exchange Active Sync so what you do on one device transfers to all other devices.

I no longer delete email on my device, I either;
-Mark as read (to clear it's notification)
-Move it to a webmail folder I set up called "Office" to deal with it later.
-Or, of course, deal with it on the spot.
