I pulled out the old but reliable 9900 and 9320 today after my Z10 died my back up device is an iPhone 5 when I'm out and about Q10 for work. And Z30 for just like messing around (I usually take this out over Z10). But anyway I turned on both OS7 devices and launched apps it felt good. I loved the Twitter app notifications were better. I use my phone for Twitter mostly and typing on this lovely Twitter app felt great I missed it for some reason I don't like Twitter for BB10 and can't use Blaq due to its ugly UI. So I was playing around BBM was good, simpler felt so much better at times searching for contacts with shortcuts oh yeah remember them. Universal search, even the ring tones. I felt almost like I'd just bought them the 9320 was spinning clocks especially my custom blue one but the 9900 was smooth and felt great in the hand. Battery life was great, better on 9320 but good on 9900. A few negatives were the tacky browser which is almost unusable on the 9320 but overall it felt good and then I pulled out the PlayBook I hadn't used it for a few months I'm not a ergh iPad user but none the less I loved the OS Bridge was so much better and although it was nowhere near Apple it was a great start and how it didn't sell at the time eluded me I tried to get my Pearl out but it was dead. But overall what I'm trying to say I can see why people stay legacy some say I hated it but I love it. And I'm carrying round my 9900 now just as a little loved up memory. I know I have too many phones. Aha. But if BlackBerry are wondering why OS7 continues to outsell just look at it simple business and user friendly good looking and just great for a BB loyalist. So although my PlayBook remains in the draw and my iPad Air blows it away I even liked that. I know this thread is a bit farfetched but give me your opinions do you like OS7 I can't let go. I leave you with a picture of my beloved OS7 devices and the PlayBook. Oh BlackBerry. PS: They all look old and worn.

Is that blue Curve a custom job? Never seen that one.

And I thought I was the only one who dislikes Blaq. Glad to have found one more person.

I do like the BB10 Twitter app, but I can understand what you mean about the legacy BBM app. Navigating was much simpler. With the BB10 BBM app I have to think about what I'm looking for.
Granted, it does have more features now compared to last time I used the legacy app over a year ago.

Hey now, if you're not an overly app-centric sort and can't stand to sometimes maybe have to wait all of five seconds for something instead of one, the 9900 is the best BBOS ever knew.

I'm with you. I can't imagine what kind of crap just some people were trying to do with the 9900's that it was supposed to be so slow, so buggy, what have you. I really put mine thru it's paces with heavy daily use and it never let me down. I've been kicking around re-activating mine just because it was such a compact and comfortable UI. You are correct OP, it was excellence at work.

PS: that blued out Curve is pretty sharp

Meaning you don't love it anymore.

Well, I can't really comment on OS7 as a Z10 was my first BlackBerry. I will say though that I've heard a lot about it and after using BlackBerry 10 I wish that I'd gotten a BlackBerry sooner.

The new BBM app isn't as good as OS7s, that's for sure.

The group stuff is terrible on BB10. I have to get out of the HUB BBM and manually go to my BBM to upload a pic, make an appointment etc. I really don't like the new overall look of the new BBM compared to BBOS'.

Everything is just soo simplistic which is why those loyal BBOS7 people haven't jumped on BB10.

It was expensive but I dropped it and shattered ridiculously never got it replaced went on a BB10 spree buying the Z10 the Q10 then the Z30 my iPhone was cheap through my workplace that's okay prefer BlackBerry though but os7 was so simplistic everything was so less swipey I'd go back if I was forced too.

I remember my first Blackberry, a chrome edged Curve 9300. I was using an android with a life of its own and quite obviouly possessed by something ridiculous.

I bought the 9300 and the girl in Argos said she'd never seen one close up.....so I opened the box in the shop, and we both said "wow"...it looked so good with its keyboard, the shiny chrome edging etc. I fell in love totally.

No other BB has had that same effect.....and whilst I do like my Z10, prefer things about it like the speed of it etc, I will still always gave that love for my Curve and the BIS.

Curve models were good but after the 9300 which I had in Chrome too, I think 9320 failed itself if I remember 9300 had very few clocks in everyday usage of course downloading an app was a pain, how much did you pay for your 9300? I paid 170 from Three UK.

My 9300 was 190 UK currency.

I had the 9320 too....running 7.1 and I found the memory stayed stable where the 9300 would almost 'eat' it's own memory. TBH I did like them both

I only had 9320 for around 3 months then went Bold9900 then went on my BlackBerry10 buying spree which cost me a heck of a lot and if they stop supporting any of the devices within the next 2 years I'll be fuming

One of the big differences between BlackBerry and other smartphone makers is that BlackBerrys remain relevant and usable long after their contemporaries have been discarded.

I'm still deciding whether to update BBM which has the Channels element in it. As much as I liked my OS7.1, many with legacy are having slowing issues with Channels...so that's one thing that a huge memory phone like the Z10 can easily cope with. Also If you look at the size of software updates....hundreds of MBs the seasoned OS user would hide in a dark room and never come out again. My only downside to my 7.1 was memory which as my Z10 has 16G...less operating stuff...I'm more than happy to have a bigger 'guts' phone

True Z10 is an extraordinary phone and I use that as my daily driver as Z30 is better but awkward in the hand.

Have you tried a silicon case on it? Got one on mine and I not only have a good grip but the phone is more bulky and easier to hold. That's one thing I miss from the 9300...the rubberised back and sides that made it easy to grip

No problem. There are two things that killed Blackberry. Putting an iPod in a phone and the sluggishness of BBO7.

BB10 has a lot of great features, but it still needs to be snappier.

Overall BB10 is better obviously :P

But yea snappier, nothing can never be snappy enough.
I would like more connected hub apps. Like:
full access to groups and channels from the hub.
    - full access to phone/contacts under calls
    - launch Facebook (I get that the full app would be slow in the hub so being able to launch it instead of looking for it on your app drawer)

Theme would be awesome especially a OS7 theme for people who loved BBOS
