Is there any word for adding Ukrainian language to OS10?

I've read and heard "soon" so many times since 2013.... BB has done a splendid job adding languages, some more quickly than others, they've added Russian (transliterated), but still many languages missing.

Does BB not realize Russian is not an all-encompassing language?? Why have French, Italian, German, Spanish at all if English is already present - all uuse the same Latin alphabet.... So if you know your language, make do with what's supplied..

Seriously this is pretty bad. Understood that OS 10 is new argument, but other platforms had much greater language compatibility support right from the start...

I'm sorry, that's got to be frustrating! I imagine it is attributed to BlackBerry just needing to pick those languages which hit the largest number of people who use their platform. If they were BlackBerry of ten years ago, I'm sure they'd have had the resources to have more languages day 1...

Nearly two years now though...long time to wait

Many languages are missing, unfortunately. And with inability to replace the stock keyboard it makes BlackBerry 10 devices unusable in some regions. BlackBerry can fix this in 1 week, but it looks like they don't care much about customers anymore.

Yes, BlackBerry does not care about customers. /sarcasm off

It's called return on investment and/or limited resources.

Totally agree. Ukrainian language absence frustrated me too when I started BlackBerry. Sometimes I cannot write my name on the Ukrainian when I need to do this on some site in our country.

Yes, they spend resources to make color LED notifications (already available with an app), but can't include a language file to support millions of potential customers... interesting strategy, BlackBerry style.

Eventually it will come, and user base is important but not crucial, they added Croatian in BBOS 7.1 and from begging in BB10 and BlackBerry user base in Croatia, as country itself is quite small.

That was the right decision for their niche customer base. All hands on deck to upgrade BBOS7 enterprise customers.

BlackBerry is no longer interested in competing with Apple and Google in the consumer space. They have made that plain. It almost put them out of business.

Companies constantly replace BlackBerry devices with Android and iOS. BlackBerry lost to Windows Mobile too. What is BlackBerry actually interested in?

BlackBerry 's all-in play right now is BES and other corporate service revenues which fully support BYOD. Device sales only help leverage this, but are secondary to the overall objective.

If you've been keeping up on the news, they have been making some encouraging gains lately.

That's fine, but what about us, private users? Forced to switch to another platform?

    If you want to.

I myself prefer what BB10 offers even though I'm not their focus right now.

Won't be for long, if that's their survival plan. I personally have nothing to replace my Z10 with. If I want a better device, I have to switch to other OS, even if I don't want to.

Oh, there's a presence alright... MTS Ukraine (mobile carrier) sell BB10 devices as well and have a presence country-wide.

Seriously, what does it take for BlackBerry to add a language to the OS? There are so many resources to get that done properly as well.. good grief
