    Hey all,
    Sooo... I'm using a Q5 in Canada, I got a BB10 OS update the other day (only 29MB)... ever since I updated it, I'm ready to drive over this phone... apps constantly crash, my location services "aren't turned on" for apps (when in fact they are on in the settings), and the Maps app won't give me directions anyplace, and says "Error 1013"... is this occurring with anyone else? And I've never had to reload a previous OS or anything like that... any help/advice/guidance would be super appreciated! Thanks CB'ers!

    29 MB update is most likely carrier bloatware not sure why it's causing so many issues.

    10.2.1.2192. I'm not sure what's going on... like when I got this error, I was outside anyway... and it picked up my location. But then wouldn't give actual directions.

    I'd load up the latest leaked OS, but you would lose all the data on your phone unless you back up, which I don't do and therefore couldn't help you with that. But if you're okay with losing your data, I'd suggest loading 10.2.3xxx, or if you feel adventurous, 10.3

    At this point I agree with Peevish. If that doesn't work, reinstall your carrier's OS. Nothing to lose imo.

    Restart phone first, clears up some issues sometimes. DO NOT PULL OUT THE BATTERY ON A RUNNING BB10!!!

    Thanks everyone... I've rebooted/turned off and on multiple times so far. I wish that was the secret trick. Never had to reload an OS, so... I can do this off of BlackBerry Link? thanks again!

    Try a battery pull.

    Security wipe will put the phone back to the start for you. Try that before loading a new os.

    I do it almost every day when changing batteries. It won't hurt the phone. When I got my first Z10 and was having issues, RIM tech support had me do battery pulls repeatedly, I asked if I should just reboot using the volume keys and they said no, pull the battery. They said it wouldn't hurt it and they wanted the battery out for a while. If I encounter and issue, I reboot using the volume keys, but for changing a battery I simply pull it. Seven months of almost daily pulls, sometimes three times a day and no problems.
