You'll need to use Sachesi I tried DDPB and it crashed android apps directly...

You will need to install 2013 and 2015 distribution files from microsoft for Sachesi to work.

Chrome Extension BB10 / PlayBook App Manager via Wi-Fi.

    It works like a charm.

100% perfect on my MS Windows XP machine (Or any PC supported).

See the tutorial / how-to-do manual and click it here below.

How To Sideload Google Play Client Snap For Android Apps On BlackBerry 10 - BlackBerry Empire

The reason why I did and troubleshooted was that I had to revert the two BAR files of Android Runtime from the previous OS build of BlackBerry (OS 10.3.2.2813) and put those back into my old BB10 device (Q10) which is not my daily driver anymore and I use this device only as a back-up smartphone.

Another reason behind of it is that I can't directly make a USB-connection between my pc and Sachesi with my Q10 no more (Except my Passport which it normally work). It's very strange to me and I have the latest version of BlackBerry Link with compatible BB drivers installed on my pc (MS WinXP).

My daily driver device is still my OG Passport and in the future I will buy and use the Priv afterwards.

That's not very encouraging. We were hoping 2879 would fix it. Two more months of this.

And who knows how long after that until carriers pick it up.

At least the conspiracy rumours can be put to rest.

I guess conspiracy rumors can rest because now it's clear BlackBerry is sadistic. A fix is here and they still are not stopping the active push to "update" to 2876 and furthermore won't push at least the fix to factory unlocked phones.

BlackBerry has some serious problems. There is no making excuses for this now.

Wow you got a response from someone. That's amazing. You've done what no one else was able to do. Even if their answer is just as crazy as the rest of their decisions it shows that once again they had the chance to do something but chose to do nothing.

Let's hope it actually works. Wiping the phone doesn't fix it if you restore a backup. I tried that a month ago with a partial backup (can't remember what they call it) of only setting and accounts. My phone thinks I have Android apps that I don't even have the apks for.

I did the recommended fix to the OS and could delete Android apps once again. However, I left the phone on auto update. The fix causes the phone software checks to flag up as incorrect. This causes the phone to show as needing an OS update. Guess what, my Z10 was kindly re-loaded with 2836 automatically by BlackBerry overnight. I was greeted this morning by the phone displaying the update message. If you do the recommended fix by loading the previous version of the Android runtime bar files, make sure you turn off auto updating.

Not really. He never said anything about updating the runtime, he just said the issue had been fixed and would be released with 10.3.3. Not to mention that 2876 was basically a small OS patch to the runtime only...and yet was clearly considered by them to be worthy of a standalone update release.

I, and many others, had hoped that the fix for the Runtime would be in the 2879 OS that is currently on the BlackBerry production servers.

We have now been told that the fix will not happen until 10.3.3 (presumably sometime in March or later).

I didn't understand your response to that.

My response was to the last sentence of your post....ie that BlackBerry's response would somehow put to rest what you refer to as a 'conspiracy'. In fact, I believe the opposite is true and this will raise many more questions than answers. Making us wait until 10.3.3 is only further evidence that 2876 could be part of a more comprehensive security update to the OS, and not just a standalone patch.

    Hi Richard,

Thanks for posting this, it's appreciated. If you could maintain this relationship, we would all benefit from any further news or developments you can glean.

Some of us can write code, some of us have the access to test things across many OS's and devices, some of us are good at writing documentation, some of us have useful contacts, some of us can "think outside the box"... working together is the key to getting the best out of our devices.

    Regards

    James

I personally never thought that BB10 developers didn't exist. Only that there were probably only two left, and they were both working out of the Janitor's closet in the basement of BlackBerry headquarters.

The consensus is "No". BB will fix the bug, at leisure, but Runtime is and will remain what it is. BB's horse is now in the Android phone race.
