    Only to be able to turn back on automatic updates.
    I don't need automatic updates but I sure wish the persistent notifications for the 85meg update would stop. Why doesn't BBRY at least replace the 85meg problematic update with the one they are posting in BW?

    As soon as you update from BBW, that will stop.

    Of course it will but why are they trying to OTA the old version problem files when they already have the fix. I could easily fix the ART by OTA if the left hand knew what the right hand is doing, Instead I have a choice of a broken OTA or a network failure from BW.

    Hi all,

    Those that have managed to download the new runtime and are using it with the latest OS, can you confirm if the "no sound with headphones issue" is apparent? Would some of you mind checking for us all, please?

    Consider yourself lucky---very few (if any?) others have been able to do this, so it would seem by the comments on CB.
    Checked the link for the new runtime, and hooray! It's actually "working" and offers the new runtime to install. Bit the bullet and updated to the 2876 latest version of the OS, with the buggy Runtime, over the air, but now find like a lot of others, when I try and install the updated runtime from BBW, it just gives me the "network error". This is via Wifi or via mobile network (British Telecom in the UK).

    Anyone else noticing a pattern as to whom can and can't get the update installed at all?

    StageFright requires the Android core libraries (like multimedia), which BB10 does not have. SMS/MMS is handled by the OS - not the Runtime.

    Direct from BlackBerry:
    "MMS messages are not interpreted by the Android Runtime by default. Additionally, BlackBerry 10 is not vulnerable to the StageFright ASLR bypass."

    We've hijacked this thread enough. There is no threat. There have been several threads on this already.
    Attack vector is not limited to MMS. Get a multimedia file via any android messenger and you're toast. Am i wrong?

    That's very plausible arkenoi, and thanks for posting. Never even crossed my mind...

    I suppose if it is indeed the case (as far as we can establish after a bit more input from others), and it is an "IF" right now, and not confirmed... someone who can get to it could post it somewhere for us European / and non-US residents to grab, possibly. I have some space in a cloud storage I'd be winning to host it at.

    I'm in Canada and downloaded the fix from BBW yesterday (sys.android-10.3.2.371). It's working, I can uninstall and re-install android apps.

    Sound from headphones is working fine too, bluetooth or wired.

    Z10 STL100-3, OS 10.3.2.2876

    if yes, i followed all steps..i rebooted..waited for abt 10 mins..went to mobile network app..uninstalled an app..bt again the app crashes without uninstalling...
