Too bad, this update is not available for French BlackBerry!!!
So we keep our bugs. Hopes this is only a calendar question.

    Doesn't affect BB10 anyway.
    Why do you think so?

Just to save others the effort...

I was on 10.3.2.2876 with the version 231 of the ART BARs installed.

I kept getting the "A network error occured..." message and decided to try allowing the phone to OTA update to the 348 ART and then try to download the fix. No dice.

I had tweeted this issue to @BlackBerryHelp. I received a private message reply, this can happen over excellent WiFi and cell coverage. Their development team is working on it and will report back to them when the issue is resolved.

Both of them are at lunch right now, but will resume the fix afterwards.

Last Clewley (Twitter) reply on it was 'still caching'.

Except, that was almost a day ago. Never heard of something 'caching' for more than a few minutes.

I did not do anything special. Clicked on the link and it took me to BBW. Clicked on download and it simply worked.

Consider yourself lucky---very few (if any?) others have been able to do this, so it would seem by the comments on CB.

Downloaded the Runtime patch from BlackBerry World. Installed. Rebooted the device. And uninstalled the previously "uninstalled" Android app using Cobalt's Mobile Network app. . It worked like a charm.

How ridiculous that BlackBerry "support" cannot roll out and make a fix available to its user base! I just got a corporate Classic a month ago, but will simply throw it back. I could not use Sachesi because an IT policy blocks it.

Sure, If I were cynical, I would ask "what year is it coming" This is unacceptable from a company that "serves" enterprise customers.

While I understand the BBW distribution approach to work around carrier delays, I don't see why this couldn't also be made available OTA to unlocked devices.

Exactly where has it been discussed?

If android vm is compromised, and the program in question has enough privileges, you are pretty much pwned.
Yes, your precious "blackberry OS integrity" would be intact, but who cares if your data are accessible from the android VM.

StageFright requires the Android core libraries (like multimedia), which BB10 does not have. SMS/MMS is handled by the OS - not the Runtime.

    Direct from BlackBerry:
"MMS messages are not interpreted by the Android Runtime by default. Additionally, BlackBerry 10 is not vulnerable to the StageFright ASLR bypass."

We've hijacked this thread enough. There is no threat. There have been several threads on this already.

Yesterday it ran: "network error" both via WiFi and via carrier. No way to get the upgrade. Anyway I disinstalled nearly all the Android app. I only keep the reuters app for news, the icon disappeared but all the rest is in the cache. Battery Lasts about 12/16 hours, I connect the charger at night. The other Android device must be recharged at 4 o'clock and at 20. Just to remind.

If you are still on the 2876/2836 Runtime, all you did was remove the home screen icons.

@Conite: I managed to disinstall some Android apps before the 2876 release, now I'm obviously stuck like everybody else. Luckily the phone doesn't seem much affected. Don't know if it's better to wait or try again to download the fix
