easily put, in the context of the history of version numerations and development- going from 10.1 to 10.2 in any software isn't a major/great update. You're expectations from going up .1 were probably far too great. You were probably expecting something like 10.5 or even 11.0.
Which leads me to another good discussion question: once we (if we) ever get to 11.x - would it make sense to still call it BlackBerry 10? just a thought... I still don't get the whole numbering of the phone models... Q5/Z30... Q's going by fives? Q5, Q10, (Q15?)... but the Z's, Z10, Z30 going by 20s I imagine (Z50?)
You're doing it wrong. Check out the sideloading forums for help. Every Android app that Ive tried has worked on it.
To save you time, look at the video for sachesi to create your debug token. Use https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...pblnikkp?hl=en to install it to your device. After that, just convert and install the Android apk files to your phone through sachesi.
lmao are you for real? There's tons of changes; and the updated Android Runtime has made things run incredibly smooth; I haven't had one app crash since moving over to 10.2. Not to mention the slew of apps that are now working since going to 4.2.2. Lock screen previews, toast notifications, choice of dark theme, ability to reply immediately within apps, priority hub, app manager/device monitor(in settings), sexy updated weather app, BB10 keyboard working in apps like Instagram... yeah you're right though, there isn't many updates.
Then tell me if windows 8.1 is a good update. 2gb for very little changes.

Yes! This right here has to be implemented!! Communication tool such as BBM that prides itself on communicating through various forms...yet you can't send videos!? I have to admit that is ridiculous...BBM must allow to send videos soon!
Yeah... by now my Z10 should be able to take coffees, peal potatoes and bake cakes... besides that.. I only wanted it to make auto repairs...
What did you expect??? A new OS??
As for apps... it is just getting out now... and I see new apps and games coming out every day...
My Z10 with 10.2.0.1767 works flawlessly... a breeze...
there some ungrateful people out there!!! :/ this is a mayjor update from 10 and 10.1 i cant wait for the official cums out :)
Latest renditions of 10.2 have been awesome for me. It is an evolutionary process and while it might not be enough for some, it is making the best OS out there even better. Simple things like remote file access have been greatly improved and almost flawless. Latest runtime is awesome and those "big name apps" seem to be working awesome for me. I am even using some sideloaded apps like The Score over the native version as they run so well. That's not a BlackBerry issue, but a developer issue.
As for Mr Zed 10 /SMH

battre long life and Android 4.2.2 with hardware support !
blackberry Z10 indonesia (aceh) All apps amazing,,,, - YouTube
Giving what is going on with Blackberry's finances, and considering the alternative of not having Blackberry around any more... then 10.2 is AWESOME. It is certainly better than 10.1, or in my opinion any other os.
So, the title of this thread is a little misleading, since I thought the OP would have been having significant issues rather than just expressing vague disappointment.
- Battery life is a pretty freakin important consideration for some of us, at least
- The new notifications are a significant improvement
- Generally better performance and reliability
Now, the whole thing with the Android runtime is that it ENABLES publishers to push out ports based on more recent apps. That's still up to those publishers to respond to. Since at this point 10.2 is only officially available on Z30s (and in Indonesia, for some weird reason), it would be foolish for a publisher to push out a new port that would only be available to a small slice of BB10 users. Once the 10.2 update has been released to most users I think we'll see more new Android port announcements.
LOL... it is still "10" any "major" update will be 11... Until then it will all be incremental...
Don't know what the negativity is all about. I see a big difference in 10.2. Seems like the OP hasn't put in enough time with the OS to experience all the little features and small details besides toast notifications and hub features

just updated my Q5 to the official 10.2 and i love it!! looks amazing!
I'm so pumped for the massive battery life improvement. So stoked...
I love the new 10.2 features.
But I hoped for keyboard shortcuts to be included, as the absence of those was criticized so heavily (also by myself).
I think this would have dragged a lot of legacy BB users, as this has always been one of their beloved BBOS features.

do you actually have 10.2 installed ? i cannot believe that you do not see how well android apps are running on 10.2
I See remarkable changes i dont know whats wrong with this guy
All you whiners should consolidate and start your own company and make all those improvements that you talk about yourselves!!
Sounds like you could do a much better job than BlackBerry has done.
I'd buy your product!!
NOT!!
Wait did 10.2 officially come out in NA yet and I missed it? Oh.. apps will be ported over once 10.2 is mainstream IMHO...
Just wait for 11.0. I should come out in this lifetime.

If blackberry is sold in small pieces, will we still get updates?
Posted via CB10
Until more popular android apps make it to BlackBerry world, updated runtime is of very little significance.
