I just don't understand... How does this carrier thing work? Why BlackBerry doesn't release the updates like Apple does with iOS?
They don't because nobody else does. Carriers have control of when updates roll out. Apple is the ONE exception to this rule. They have so much marketshare and power that they literraly can give carriers the finger and do what they want. BlackBerry (and WP/Android for that matter) can't.

BlackBerry releases the OS on their servers for carrier testing. Carriers test (some do it right, some pretent do do it, some don't do it, some never do it) and release. How long it up to them and how important they consider it. The MR was rather important nd hit carriers world wide quite fast (even Brasil, we got it within the week or relelase).

BB 10.2.1 is to be released Q1 2014. Let's see how that goes.

I called Oi and they told me updates had absolutly nothing to do with carriers, that BlackBerry should release them. I know this isn't true, and by the way, thanks for your explanation... the sad thing is I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever get these updates. I think they just don't care about BlackBerry.

I have a friend here at my work, with uses "Oi" and has a BBZ10... The upgrade to 10.2.437 worked fine for her.

Oh, tell me more about how carriers never lie to us...

They will ALWAYS will cast blame on whatever other party is involved.

Really? Where did she buy her phone? Apparently, some people who bought it from other countries can update it. I've just checked mine and the latest OS avaible is 10.1...

On BlackBerry Link or OTA? What kind of message do you see when click on "Attach Picture"? And by way, what's your carrier?

More importantly, what was the size of the update and what OS you have running there.

OTA, but I'm downloading it through BlackBerry Link. My carrier is Oi. And there's no message... I just tap attach, select my pic but it doesn't work =/

So OI is going 10.2, or BlackBerry is pushing it to carriers that said "do whaterver the porra you want."

Either or. I'm curious and checking Sachesi...

    EDIT: Update 10.2.0.429 available! OS: 10.2.0.1803 + Radio: 10.2.0.1804

Sachesi settings: Country 724 Carrier 31 (16 also works)

    Not bad!

EDIT: Funniest thing... No settings for VIVO will show ANY OS versions, while Claro and TIM are still on 10.1. Guess VIVO wasn't kidding about pushing WP8.

Don't you find it strange your OS update is so small?

    I'm don't think so... I mean, I was on 1791. What BIG changes from 1791 to 1803?

Also, I've seen a few members report that their updates wasn't that big too, considering that transition from 1791 to 1803.

You don't get OS updates it seems. The OS file is usually around 300mb itself. The radio file is somewhere near 20mb. I am betting you forgot you updated to .1803 .

While the possibility of incremental updates (where only changes get pushed) exist, BlackBerry didn't get the green signal to start doing that, so all updates (real OS updates that is) push the whole thing down.

Therefore, small "updates" like that are usually carrier bloatware+stuff you deleted from the device. Some rare times, it is something the OS noticed that was not ok and re-downloaded.

Only thing I can think of is you got the radio only.... (26MB is around the size of a radio file).
