Hi All,

It's been a pain to extract this stuff from those pesky cod files so I thought I might as well share.

These are not re-recordings/re-encodings as available elsewhere but original files as shipped in the different OS versions. Music files have their metadata, cover image, etc.

There is of course some overlap and several copies of some files but pay attention; same named files are not always the same. For instance, Alarm_Antelope was shipped as a MIDI mid file with 4.5, as an AAC m4a with 4.6, and as an m4a (but with 3 repetitions and lesser sound quality) with latter versions.

This one includes all media (ringtones, music, videos, backgrounds and icons), 96MB

Well, I just wanted to get a couple BBOS 5 sounds which I used to like and had again in later versions thanks to the package RIM published in BB World. Did find only some mp3 recordings with lesser quality and the BBSAK route didn't work with OS 10.

Long story short, this turned out to be a major research project and once I had developed the tools, extracting other resources was easy. So I decided to do the same for all versions I could and create this full archive which some might find of historic interest.

Didn't know about Bla1ze's work. I probably wouldn't have done this otherwise :-)

Anyway lets think of Bla1ze's files as the last iteration of those classic sounds.
I was quite surprised when I realised the amount of change these tones have undergone during the years.

For people who have problems with the notification sound volume is this help them to regain the loudness if they use one of this sounds or does not make any difference?
