Opening a new tab to the homepage?

Is it possible to set the new tab to automatically go to the set homepage?

It's current state is pretty useless. Opening up to that eyesore of a tile page needs to go. I just want my homepage (which is shockingly enough Google) to open to make searching something new easier than having to actually go into the menu and hitting 'Home'.

Yes. In your browser, go to Settings (3 vertical dots at bottom right) and tap "Display and Actions". At the top of the page, tap "On Startup Show" and select homepage.

That works for when the browser is initially opened but when a new tab is opened, it opens the tile page.

I can't seem to find a setting to change that.

You're right, I can't find a setting either. I hadn't thought of that. I very rarely open a new tab from scratch -- I'm typically opening a new tab from a link.
