My hosting service includes a Microsoft exchange activesync service equivalent:

    OX App Suite

I have tried to add that very account to both my passport and my iphone 5.

both are successful added but my iphone has properly synced emails, contacts and etc where else my passport is showing nothing.

    Any ideas on whats wrong?

    Can anyone help?

This exchange service works fine with my iPhone 5.

The account is accepted on my passport but the contents of the email, contacts and such are empty.

So microsoft active sync works better on an iPhone than it does bb10?

How did you add it. Did you allow BB10 to decide how to sync to that account pr did you chooseadvanced and load it manually?

My work account has to be added using the advanced activesync setup using the same credentials for the iPhone. When loaded that way it works properly including allowing me to add Contacts from the server and syncing calendar appointments.

The big issue has been the user name needs to be truncated before the @.

You can also check the settings in the PC client to use with advanced mode on bb10

I use OX Mail and works fine for me:

Domain is your email address domain.

Username is the part before the @ in email.

    Email address is full email.

    Server Address is privateemail.com

    Port is 443

    Use SSL & Push ON

Use those settings for Advanced Email Setup Exchange Activesync type.

    Thanks peter.

I'm getting a login information account error.

    My password is definitely correct.

I also tried the domain including the @ but still no cigar.

Sometimes, the domain is different than the email that it's accessing.

    For instance:
    Email: 123456@examplemail.com
    Domain: mail.teachingothers.com

Also, sometimes the user name requires correct pathing such as:

    Email: 123456@examplemail.com
    User Name: EXAMPLE/123456

Ask your network administrator for the correct setting.

OpenXchange isn't fully supported. Neither BlackBerry supports OpenXchange nor OpenXchange supports BlackBerry. Perhaps it demands on the Xchange version. It works for me, but sucks battery, so I can't use it.

What part of it doesn't work?

It took me a while to get the setup right and the right credentials as their documentation is ancient but I tested the contacts, calendar and email all seems fine.

Correct setup should be what I posted. I've been using it for over a year.
