    1) Backup using LINK
    2) Nuke
    3) Autoloader
    4) Setup my Accounts
    5) Sideload SNAP
    6) Reinstall BBW Apps
    7) Reinstall Google Apps viz Snap
    8) Reinstall Amazon Apps that work - but don't work via SNAP
    6) Logon to all my Apps

    Don't do restores
Have a list of all my account info written out
All my accounts are synced - Contacts, Tasks, Calanders

Only thing I miss are losing my TEXT messages... need to go ahead and get Backup Pro so I can save and restore those easily.... just been hoping for a sale.

Download the signed files for radio, os and debrick for apps.
Make my own blitz folder and delete over half of the bar files in there.
Load via Sachesi to my phone.
Reboot three or five times after load complete.
    I never wipe the phone.
Hey jaydee, mind saying what bar files you've safely deleted?

I don't like link and since password keeper lets you backup your passwords now, I don't ever use it. I always forget about my bookmarks so I just live with losing those.

I have picture backup to a cloud service. My Remember notes are saved to Evernote or Outlook.com. So for the actual steps I take:

    Export PasswordKeeper to SD card.
Copy any videos or downloads I want to keep to SD card.
Disable password/pin lock (if I remember)

I use an autoloader and if I run into issues after I will perform a security wipe.

The worst part of starting fresh is reconfiguring my notification profiles and putting all the useless app icons in a folder.

I use an autoloader then wipe then run the autoloader again then setup. I've tried it various ways and this has been the way I've had no problems with the install.

If it's before a major OS upgrade (10.1 - 10.2.0, 10.2.0 - 10.2.1, 10.2.1 -10.2.2, 10.2.2 - 10.3.0, 10.3.0 - 10.3.1, then I backup all my files via Link, also back it up via Cloud services, move whatever I can to my SD card, then use the Autoloader. I used to restore via Link, but after going from 10.3.0 to 10.3.1 and having issues, I now restore using the Cloud and SD.

If it's a minor OS update (within the same major OS, such as 10.3.1.xxx to 10.3.1.xxx) , then I simply use Sachesi. If the Blitz package is available before I'm ready to update, I'll use it, but if not, I'll make my own folder and install it.

I have never done an SIC wipe, for I personally see it as overkill, a last resort when EVERYTHING goes awry. I believe that an autoloader does more than enough for a destructive install.

    Posted via CB10
This is exactly my method as well. Major OS updates get a backup and fresh install, minor revisions get a nondestructive Sachesi install.

    Never an issue.

Had z10,z30 and now passport. Probably installed every leak. Lol. Used all different methods except nuke/a. I'll give that a try next time. I have had random issues with all methods. And I have seen different results using the different methods like changes in the menu's and the order they are listed in an autoloader vs autoloader with a wipe or sic. It does change things and fixes some issues. I learnt from the beginning to use the cloud as much as possible. Live with the rest. Until someone comes up with a sweet bbos style tool for back and install and shrink I think I'm going to use nuke/a and start from scratch and see what happens.

Step 1 :- Copy all the screenshots to media card.
Step 2 :- Install the autoloader.
Step 3 :- Start everything from the scratch.
Loose my texts and BBM messages which is fine for me.
Contacts restore from my mail account.

    For incremental changes:
-Transfer any important device info to SD
-Turn off device, remove SD and SIM
    -Full backup including all executables
-Run autoloader or non destructive update
    -Complete setup and reboot
    -Restore if destructive
    -Check everything
-Open BBM and DO NOT CLOSE until sync is complete

    For major OS jumps:
-Transfer any important device info to SD
-Turn off device, remove SD and SIM
-Full backup including all executables (just in case)
    -Run autoloader
    -Complete setup and reboot
    -Setup from scratch
    -Check everything
-Open BBM and DO NOT CLOSE until sync is complete

If I encounter problems, I cfp nuke -a

I am very willing to wait and see what others do first and then I attempt the fastest, easiest and most reliable way. "Blitz" non-destructive is the way I go. I have completed my OS update this way 3 times with a couple user errors but I never give up and success every time in the end for me.

I've been using the non-destruct upgrades lately. But I never go more than 3 os's. After 3, I autoload, fresh install no restore then non-destruct again for another 3 os's

Still using Bold 9900 as my main device for a number of reasons, including trackpad and belt.

Have a Q10 to keep familiar with OS10 new features.
Only have my contacts on my device...never sync with Gmail (my email approach). Only have a few test contacts on the Q10, to try it out.

Will try out the Classic in a month or two.

Have used Sachesi, a couple of auto loads, and most recently Sachesi Blitz approach...thanks to the folks who have put the Blitz file together!!!

    1. Backup using Firechest Backup Pro - can restore in detail, can encrypt backup.
Link isn't up to the quality of Desktop Software for OS 7.1 and earlier.

    2. download Blitz file, use on my iMac with Sachesi 2.0

    3. just wait...works smoothly !!!

Haven't used the Backup file...no need to with Sachesi Blitz. But it's there just in case.

I used to use Autoloaders. And used to do a wipe. The wipe one time messed up my RFA (I know this because as soon as I reinstalled with and no wipe, Link recognized my BBID...it did not before when I wiped the device). No Restore.

Then I got lazy so Backup - Autoloader - Restore

Then I got even lazier Backup what I need (just to be careful) - make my own Sachesi folder (minus a bunch of files I don't need or want) - Install.

That is all. I have had no issues. *Knocks on wood*

Over the period, I have also reached conclusion to go for non destructive installation. So much of pain and time wastage in destructive OS installation. Also, loosing SMS and fear of restoring data even by link, ContactX etc.

Im new to BB10 with my Passport, came from a long line of iPhones and before that a very long lines of BlackBerry devices.

Ive only done two methods, autoloader and Blitz, definitely Blitz was easier and didnt give me any problems so Ill keep using that method until it gives some problems.

Something I have always done going back to legacy OS days is that when I have downloaded the OS and done my backup I always run CCleaner followed by Defraggler followed by restarting my PC before starting whichever loading process I am using.

Not sure if it helps or just makes me feel better but over the years I have only ever had one or two bad loads out of the many OS's I have installed.

I did Blitz during my last update to 10.3.1.1016 thanks to Robenzer and now planning to do Blitz again using sachesi to get 10.3.1.1155 but sachesi is giving error - authorization. So I am thinking about autoloader, please let me know how do I backup my data using cloud and which cloud is better? How do I back up my contacts?

I always do a backup regardless of the installation approach.
I prefer the non-destructive approach if the option is available. The primary reason is largely due to my particular situation. I have to use an Android MDM solution in combination with an Android Exchange email application on my Z10 in order to be able to access company email etc. Use of an autoloader and restore via Link requires me to register the MDM and Exchange email every time - registration is a time consuming and non-repeatable process.
I found the selective backup/restore feature of the newer Link very convenient. The feature works very well for all my Android applications - minus the Android MDM/Exchange email client apps. Without the MDM issue/constraint, I would go either way.
