Thinking about a future without my Z30 and BlackBerry 10 is depressing.
My estimates are 2-4 years until it will no longer function on Verizon Wireless due to sunset of 1xEVDO network used for voice and text.

I just switched back to my Passport today aftre using a Dtek50 for 6 months. I tried to get used to sub par OS and functionality. When I mean functionality, I am not talking apps. I am talking about the function of the phone. It just works they way it should, for me at least. I store businesses in my contacts. I put the business name in the business name not in first or last. On the Dtek50 I can find that business in the dialer, because it only shows the first or last name. It will show numbers, but again, if I have several results, who knows which number goes to the one I want. Music plays so much easier, and consistently. Have I mentioned Swipe up, left or right, getting to the app I want to get to with ease. Keyboard is awesome! Photos are where I expect them to be. I can rename them and find them with search if desired. I can use file manager to put stuff where I expect it to be. I will end my Pro BB10 Rant for now. I would love an pay dearly for a new BB10 phone that has BAND 12 on it though. a Priv with BB10 would be SWEET! I was so disappointed when they did android only on that phone.
BB10 for life. My device is far from being on life support. It turns on, it operates, it dials out and receives calls. Still waiting to see a greater OS to have me jump ship.

How long do you plan on living? ;)
I give it 10, maybe 15, years before the carriers shut down their 4G networks.
I'm probably going to buy another Q10 and some extra batteries, keyboards, and screens.
I've already replaced the keyboard, screen, and frame on my current Q10.

I'll probably pick up a Z10 and some spare parts for that, too.
I expect to be using a Q10 or Z10 for another 3-5 years, at least.
Long after the embedded batteries in the newer BB10 phones have sputtered out.

I am IMMORTAL. I am here forever lol.

Hub++ seems to be missing stuff still. For me, it doesn't have the swipe shortcut, productivity tabs andI think one other thingthe Masonory app manager that a real BlackDroid has(I can't recall what else right now). Little minor but very annoying differences.
Not digging the tile crap default Android has.
If I were you I would get the Z30. Way better phone

I've owned a few Z30s in the past. Great phone. I'll probably get another one eventually.
I'm just not sure how easy it would be to obtain a replacement battery and replace it myself when the original battery deteriorates.

I was worried about the same thing but the Passport was so simple. You can check YouTube out and see but I suspect it isn't as hard as an iPhone.
Amazon is a great place to look.

There's no question it's easy to do, but if someone is going long-haul on their BB10 device, they may wish to grab a couple of batteries now before they disappear.
Yeah, it actually doesn't look too bad.
However, I still prefer the convenience of popping the back cover off a Z10 or Q10 and swapping a new battery in - without needing any tools and all in a matter of seconds.

I understand that idea. With that said, I'm not sure whereabouts you live but at costco I found a 12000 mha power bank for just $29 Cnd. With a 2.1amp charge port for your phone.

My 3 new Passport SEs, and my current Passport SE are going to be with me for a long long time.

I've been thinking about doing the same. Folks still can't believe how old bb10 hardware is and how well it still performs.

Yep. The software/hardware combination is running buttery smooth for me. Sometimes I can't believe how old my phone is (Q10).
