Don't feel too bad, Microsoft basically just threw the entire windows 8 user base under the bus with that announcement.

There's more privacy controls in Windows 10 than anything Microsoft produced before.

There's also a lot more analytics too so it's not quite a fair comparison going by number of controls.

This is skimming over the topic far too quickly however..

For the average user there was no way to limit access to anything managed by the new controls , Microsoft have increased its data mining, the reasons now better documented than when 10 was first released (with Settings and Group Policy this can be restricted if desired) however using Third-Party applications was largely an exercise in trust in previous versions of Windows. Windows 10 seeks to address this issue, giving you the same control over your information that you have on mobile OS's.

    Hey Surfer

I can confirm that Skype is working on Passport 10.3.3.1435

What version of Skype did you use previously and what was source?

If Amazon store make sure that you have removed it completely and then restart the phone and install apk. Amazon store keeps installed android app in another spot and it can create some confusion.

If some old version apk do the similar:
    1. remove Skype icon and restart phone.
    2. Install Skype (conite's link) and restart phone
    3. Run Skype and log in.
    4. Make call to 'echo test' contact to verify that app can make calls.

    I understand that part.
I would like very much to have latest working Skype.
I can install version in your link, it opens, I can sign in, contacts show up, i can dail but CAN. NOT CONNECT to even Skype test call.
    Rebooting does not change anything.
If you have suggestion I am open to try .

I have the latest version running fine.

After installing the app and running it the first time, you need to reboot the phone.

Skype - free IM & video calls 7.46.0.596 APK Download by Skype - APKMirror
I used this version for a week on Passport 10.3.2.2339. It works great for a day or two then gets stuck in "connecting" only. A device reboot brings it back to life.

Is there another version BB10 users have had success with out using Cobalt's tools?

Oh sorry, you should still be able to access it by searching in My Apps (of the Appstore). If you don't already 'own it' then get it in the Amazon website first.

Make sure it's the app updated most recently (there used to be two).
