So I can't get messages to appear on the lock screen. First I loaded 10.2.0.1793 and nothing. And now I loaded 10.2.1.1055, and still nothing.

I have instant previews turned on in settings. Is there something I'm missing??

Try swiping from left to right on the lock screen. You can still hide the preview from sight.

    That may be your problem.

I know they're two different things. I had them all turned in in hopes that it would work.
The instant previews pop up whenever I'm doing something no problem. But lock screen notifications aren't functioning. Guess I'll just have to play around and figure it out

Do you have instant preview set to on. You'll find it under System Settings then Notifications.

I suggest you perform a security wipe, then reload the OS again, then maybe another security wipe after. That could solve such problem. If it's your settings backup that is causing it, then you shouldn't restore your settings backup.

OK so I figured out what's going on. When I restore the settings it takes away the lock screen notifications option in settings.

Now on to the next problem. When I restore without "settings" I lose all my contact info.

This being my first BlackBerry I don't know all the ins and outs yet. Is there a way to restore without settings and not lose all my contacts?

You can either buy contact x from BlackBerry World or you can back your contacts up to a email account such as Gmail or Outlook. You can also copy all your contacts to your sim card via the contacts app. I recommend Contact X personally.

Keep In mind though setting also store text messages, password keeper and remember app information.

So I recommend getting a text backup app also. Use Evernote and make sure your remember folders are all.synced to Evernote. Also either use an app such as Keepass for your passwords instead of the native Password Keeper.

    GOT IT!!!

I backed up my contacts to verizon cloud and then did a security wipe. Restored without settings, then synced my contacts through back up assistant.

And it is so awesome that people leak new os's from BlackBerry!! Install and everything are easy as can be. I do believe BlackBerry has covered me for good from android with BlackBerry10.

Also I have to think that BlackBerry just doesn't want to hire testers to find all the bugs in the os so a "leak" appears and then we test it out for them, find the bugs, and then they fix it for official release.

The carriers test release candidate OS's. They miss things as well. The best ones to find issues are the most passionate users of the software I'd say. That being.. us.
