Let's assume that BlackBerry's Android product line turns out to be a solid success in the long run, and BlackBerry re-emerges as a major player in the smartphone world.

Would Chen be able to use that leverage to demand from Google that they open up Google Play (and Services) to BlackBerry 10?

What's in it for HTC, Sony, and Samsung? They are members of the OHA too.

Either way, the answer is no.

What would be interesting is if Blackberry entices developers to use the Blackberry development tools for android, then puts the apps on BBW as well. Silently grow the BB10 ecosystem and BOOM new BB10 device with a massive app ecosystem. Everyone teased with the gimped hub and features from Priv might want to see what the real Blackberry experience is like.

'Apple' Music is now avail on 'Android'; hence 'BlackBerry' Priv. Nothing is impossible.
