    I've cleaned the thread...
It's almost as if this forum occasionally runs too hot, and threads need to be rebooted for things to work smoothly again.
    _____

There is one thing I can say for sure: rebooting your phone never hurts, so if people feel that helps, power to them! My Passport tends to slow down after I use Spotify, Redditsync and a few game/manga related apps. Instead of waiting for those to release memory 'naturally', a reboot is often just the faster way.

Besides, any solution is better than those so-called "memory managing" apps.

As for this OS: I haven't noticed a big difference in performance, definitely not a negative difference if anything.
Recent Contact Management has a 'show only email address' toggle, that's new to me...
Gmail still does not Show Read Filed emails, it worked briefly before I have no idea why it stopped again.
Headless apps that suddenly stopped working since 10.3.2, still don't work.

If only it was that easy.

The Runtime does not properly reallocate the memory - it simply gets gobbled up by the system.
I was suggesting that the runtime should have simple service controls for the user.
The user should have the verbs to {start/stop/restart/status} and also control of the initial start-up {disable/on-demand/on-boot}.
That is what I was suggesting but I am re-evaluating that position.
Rebooting solves the biggest problem and requires zero engineering effort.

It's also a bit of nostalgia for the good ol' BBOS days. 😊 I really hope they bring back the hourglass with 10.3.3.

According to most people on this forum, the BlackBerry team isn't putting any new features into OS so that toggle must've been there all along.

Opening Sms or BBM from hub seems corrected now. It used to take up to 7-8 seconds to load all messages. Not anymore.

Sorry, wrong information. It still takes time to load, nothing changed.

Downloaded the OS yesterday. Following improvements noticed :
    1. Battery Life has improved significantly.
    2. Very stable OS. No overheating.
    3. Track Pad more responsive and sensitive. In earlier OS had issues wrt trackpad sometimes not working.

    Must download the OS.

Z10: settings for contacts app fixed since 2789. Battery drain fixed. Overall performance of OS improved.

For T-Mobile users, WiFi calling appears to be much more stable than build 2789. Been running for 12 hours with no drop of the WFC. In 2789 it would drop a few times in the same time frame.

Not sure if this was in an earlier release, but found that in 2813 you can now arrange the active apps on the home screen. I like this as at times I may have more than four apps open. Now I can put the ones I am using the most at the top.

I hate to say it ... but "it's buttery smooth, fast, and the battery life is better!"

Honestly, I have seen about a 30% improvement in battery life. I have tons of Android apps and was consistently at 12-14 hours of battery life. Now with this new update, I'm seeing 19-22 hours battery life. I wasn't actually looking for anything significant, but this was just very obvious within a couple of days of normal usage. Never been this high before in over a year of use.

Took longer to remember how to install than the actual install.

Only issue is having to wade through the typical "can't read / don't read / too lazy /too stupid" posts when a new version comes out.

I do wonder why they're gonna release this buttery update only for Sprint, even though it makes non-Sprint devices perform much, much better as well...

That dialer lag has been making me insane the last few builds. Really tired of missing the first 5 seconds of what the other person says with every call.

And FWIW: I thought it was fixed with 2789 too. But it returned not much later.

Worse, I have to restart pretty much every 1-2 days now, or else the lag makes the phone almost unusable.

And the radio on Verizon is flaky (Z10), it drops the data session randomly. Have to either toggle airplane mode or restart again to get it to behave each time.

So if we are seeing consistent and longlasting improvements in these areas, that's very good.
Last week I noticed the same lag for the first time ever on any phone. Read up on the issue and low and behold a good old battery pull IMMEDIATELY resolved it. Fingers crossed after 3 days.

Don't forget to shut down your device before taking out the battery. Your system can be corrupted if you don't.
